Does this include life steal? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 166.250.64.119 (talk).

It is likely, especially considering that the "Blood Magic" trait line increases compassion. What I'm wondering is if this affects regeneration/rejuvenation as well. --KirbyGotenksabsorbed 01:17, 01 March 2012 (UTC)
"All outgoing heals" - regen consists of tiny packets of healing. Mediggo 08:03, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
It affects at least regeneration. Have tested it. Gnarf 21:54, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

You have missed Superior Rune of Mercy for upgrade components that increase healing

Maximum total compassion/healing?[edit]

What is the maximum possible value for compassion? --KirbyGotenksabsorbed 12:42, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

I don't think there is a limit. As for the highest you can obtain, I don't know - you can get 300 from traits, 165 from a full rune set, and I think up to 700 or so from the PvP amulets. The highest I recorded with my BWE2 skill data was 1223. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:50, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, that's what I meant. --KirbyGotenksabsorbed 20:50, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
The maximum I reached on a guardian was 1385 Healing Power, I really wonder if PvE Equipment of Juwels/Rings etc can EVER make up for these PvP amulets??? Anyone know?--DIVA 11:52, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
1753. (Would be 1755/1760 if Rare/Exotic back slot items with +Healing Power as their primary attribute existed.) - 91.156.198.100 23:40, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

Scaling factor[edit]

So rejuvi and regen scaling factors have been identified with healing power. Should these factors be listed here on this page? I'll add it temporarily to the page.

Whats the scaling factor for normal healing skills?

is it the +0.0625*compassion or the +0.1*compassion? I havn't seen many multipliers when it comes to trait effects on game mechanics - this leads me to believe its some factor of compassion added on. I'll go and test this some - but just wanted to know if anyone already knew.A Liability 22:26, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

Ok so I read on the Healing spring page that the particular heal slot is 100% of your compassion added to it as an additional heal.

This leads me to believe that any 1 off heal slot skills all generate the same amount of healing from compassion so long as they heal initially. This also leads me to believe that the healing is scaled down on other slot skills including bundle skills at a ratio according to how much healing they do versus a normal self heal.A Liability 22:51, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

After further testing with self heals I found that the 1:1 link was not substantiated it is however instead likely that this model of additional healing per point of compassion is similar to the way weapon damage was increased in GW1 based on raising your attribute. I made some simple testing for rejuvenation on the rejuvi talk page, I'll do the same on the healing skill page if possible. Its plausible that ANET made the healing modifier from compassion to be consistent across all forms of regular healing.A Liability 11:38, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

List of Healing Power's effect on skills.[edit]

This wiki needs a list with all healing abilities and healing power's effect on them, quick example:

Ability Healing Power effect
Regeneration (boon) 12.5%
Rejuvenation (class mechanic) 0.64%
Selfless Daring (trait) 100%
Signet of Resolve (skill) n%
etc n%

Of course Healing Power's effect doesn't have to be percentage, it could be raw multiplier as well. But where should this info be placed, maybe on the healing power article? - 192.168.104.83 00:02, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Percentage is a multiplier: 0.125 = 12.5%, so it's just a matter of deciding which way we want to present the numbers. These should primarily be on the individual skills' articles, but a summary table somewhere could be useful. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:03, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
Thanks!! I've decided that I'll be computing compassions effects at level 80 only. I did find out that the equation is linear for both level and healing power (or close enough). I say a summary table is useful for this page.A Liability 09:27, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

How does Healing Power affect direct heals, exactly?[edit]

The most important effect of Healing Power is on direct heals (whether on yourself or on allies). The page mentions the effect on HoTs (Healing over time effects), but what is the formula for direct heal wrt Healing Power? (Similar to Damage wrt Power on the Damage page). Thanks to the kind person who can figure this out.

First sentence much? Healing scales linearly with healing power--Relyk 03:08, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
I don't think whoever wrote that knows what linear means. All the ratios listed are linear, because the ratios don't change depending on the number put in. The wording should be changed to say the ratio is 1, not 'linear' 67.65.251.116 22:10, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

New icon[edit]

Healing Power now has the icon of a slim, white ankh instead of thick medical cross, in both attributes section of the hero panel and trait line interface. Mediggo 13:15, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

But no need to through the old icon away because this icon now belongs to health - Yandere Talk to me... 14:32, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
We could move the icon and leave the redirect for now, until Alfa has a chance to make a new one. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:27, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
There's also new icons for critical damage and armor attributes. Mediggo 15:41, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Healing VS Healing Power[edit]

Sometimes items say they give healing, sometimes Healing power, what is the difference between the two?Copain 19:59, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

There's no difference, "Healing" is just someone at Anet being lazy. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:06, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Shame, but thanks for the info! Copain 20:26, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Missing Information[edit]

  • All types of equipment that give healing power are listed except for Ascended. Why?
  • The introduction gives a formula with "mechanic-specific base healing" and "mechanic-specific coefficient", but there is no information on how to determine these values for skills, traits, etc. Where does one go to find them? ~ 1Maven (talk) 11:33, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
Go to that skill or trait page. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:22, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Missing HoT recipes[edit]

This page is missing the new HoT foods such as Bowl of Prickly Pear Tapioca Pudding.pngBowl of Prickly Pear Tapioca Pudding. Don't have time to compile a list and add atm, making a note so that either someone can drop these in or I can come back later and add them. Fam (talk) 19:33, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
