Questions regarding tagging enemies to qualify for event rewards[edit]

1. Is there a time limit for when you last tagged an enemy of the event? That is, if it has been too long since you last tagged an enemy (such as wandering away after tagging the enemy at the start of the event but still remaining in the same zone/map), will you still qualify for the rewards?

2. Is there a distance limit for receiving event rewards? That is, after you tag an enemy of the event, and then wander off to another part of the map that's very far from the event's location, will you still qualify for the rewards? What if you travel to a different zone altogether?

Note that I'm assuming that the player character being used would qualify for the event rewards when playing "normally". That is, not too underleveled, and no other problems. --175.145.234.228 12:51, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

My guesses for your questions.
For core tyria maps (not Heart of Thorns maps):
  1. Time limit: I don't think there is a limit. You could "tag" an event and a long time later get the reward when someone finishes it
  2. Distance: No distance limit.
For the Heart of Thorns maps:
  1. Time limit: Hero points in HoT have a timeout (10 minutes typically), after which they disappear if incomplete. I think the timeout on meta/other events is less than 5 minutes.
  2. Distance limit: Not sure, expect not since the time limit is a sufficient restriction.

No distance limit even if you zone to another zone or instance? --202.188.14.247 03:16, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
Missed that: You only get rewards if you stay in the same map instance. -86.131.73.23 10:46, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

Contribution Levels[edit]

Do we know what determines whether you get a gold, silver, or bronze contribution level? I didn't see it on the page. 140.209.14.74 03:40, 30 January 2016 (UTC)

New Icon[edit]

There's a new icon showing up in the HoT maps for events, looks like a hand reaching out. I'm pretty sure some of the more tech savvy people can get the image out of the game files for the wiki, but if not I can try to either render it in Illustrator or get a screenshot of it, though if I did, I wouldn't have a clue where to upload it. - Doodleplex 22:38, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Haven't a clue how to mine the image from the game files, but I can show you how to upload. New pages are created by writing down the name of the page you want and clicking on it: [[File:New Icon Example.png]]. (You can use preview if you don't actually want it linked to yet.) In the case of images, you can also use the "Upload file" page from the Tools menu on the left side of the screen. Sorry for being patronizing, I misunderstood what you meant. --Idris (talk) 22:59, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Event hand (map icon).png if that's what you're looking for. {{Icon}} has been updated with some of the new icons but the files are scattered quite a bit so there are probably still some missing. Mora 23:45, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
It is indeed. Thank you. - Doodleplex 23:50, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Reset Event[edit]

I was wondering if anybody would object to this new inclusion since there are three of them now: a Reset Event. Reset Events are a period between map metas(or in one case, a meta event which effects the whole map) to reset the story line for the map and for looting. The three are: A Moment's Rest in Auric Basin, Search the area around the fallen dragon for treasure! in Dragon's Stand and Time Out in The Silverwastes. "Meta events are a series of dynamic events that tells the story of an explorable zone" but these periods do not tell any story, like I said, they're just reset periods, which is why I think it would be best to have them be referred to as that. On the same stroke, if we do use this phrase, can it be used in the {{Event infobox}} for the "type"? - Doodleplex 19:04, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Scaling Champions[edit]

The Event scaling section mentions "Champion enemies associated with the event will never increase in level due to scaling; this often results in elite foes that are more dangerous than the champions." Does anyone know for sure if this is still the case? I haven't noticed this in recent times and I'm pretty sure it is now incorrect. ~ Fishrock (talk) 17:19, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Event participation timeout[edit]

What do we know about it? Is it set separately for each post-HoT event? For Amnoon casino it seems to be between 2-3 minutes, but I remember VB Patriarch used to time out in less than a minute during the egg throwing phase. (They might have fixed that, as it doesn't seem to be doing it any more.) -- kazerniel (talk) 12:33, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
