Feedback 11/6/2015[edit]

Note: The two borderlands daily achievements are currently impossible to get. 64.132.236.106 21:57, 6 November 2015 (UTC).

Master of Ruins is one. What is the other? ~ 1Maven (talk) 00:34, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Daily WvW Veteran Creature Slayer, none of those enemies apparently made it to the new map. User Noxx Sig.png 00:52, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Since November 17th, a veteran wurm, warg, and harpy event were added on the desert Borderlands, allowing completion of the daily Veteran Slayer achievement, but I haven't found them.

Is it possible to predict future Dailies?[edit]

Or are they randomly selected from the pool each time? --138.75.212.57 00:55, 11 February 2016 (UTC)

They're random. They used to cycle through a set list every few weeks, but the latest version is completely randomized. (That said, I suspect the "PvP Profession Winner" achievements still cycle through a set list, but I haven't checked recently.) You can see more about this at Daily/History and Daily/Research. --Idris (talk) 01:08, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
Oh, and Daily#List of possible daily achievements describes the general pattern of the dailies. You can't predict the exact achievements that'll show up each day, but you can predict what sort of achievements you're going to get. --Idris (talk) 01:11, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
There very likely is a pattern (because I doubt they completely changed the system); it’s just that the pattern is likely very long making it very difficult to sense it and as such make predictions. So we can’t do anything right now apart from logging the dailies every day (I am still doing that) and checking every now and then for a pattern. So far, nothing, so we wait. poke | talk 07:26, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
That's a good point. (And I applaud your patience; I gave up on logging the dailies after about two months.) In general I'm in favour of collecting more data, but I wonder: given that ANet tend to change the dailies every few months, what if they deliberately made the pattern longer than their let's-tweak-the-dailies period to prevent us from ever figuring it out? Also, given the number of times they've completely overhauled the dailies, I wouldn't be surprised if the new system is legitimately randomized. That's not to say there still wouldn't be patterns in there, but confirming them could take months or years, and then we just run into the first problem again. --Idris (talk) 15:00, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, there are a lot of ifs here; but after tracking the dailies manually for years (literally), my process is now fully automated so all is well now ;) poke | talk 19:19, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
There's ALWAYS a pattern, because there's no such thing as a truly random number generated by a computer. But, I did some mathematical analysis, and no possible pattern was evident. Anything under about 5000 entries in the rotation would have been caught, so it's about as random as anybody would care to be. Daddicus (talk) 02:24, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

New dailies[edit]

Do we want to add all the new possible dailies to this list? That is all the Daily JPs, Daily mini-dungeons, and daily adventures. Some seem to still be trickling into the API but there are definitely some already present (since we've had them, obviously). -Darqam (talk) 21:41, 16 May 2016 (UTC)

I would say yes. They really aren't that complicated. 6 categories:
  • Gatherer
  • Action (activity, vista, mystic)
  • Area events (very likely all are possible, and the list is random; includes all 8 areas that were never included before)
  • A JP, dungeon, mini-dungeon, or world boss.
  • two fractals from levels 1-40
  • 3 random fractals, rewarded at all 4 tiers.
So, the only complicated one is the JPs, etc. My guess is that they will all become available, but randomly.
NOTE: There IS a pattern to the "recommended fractals". But, it is very likely an unintentional harmonic, which means they're likely to fix it. It's clear from the selections that it was supposed to be totally random, but they failed. RNG foiled by electrons. :) Daddicus (talk) 02:37, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

LSS3 zones[edit]

I've noticed that Bitterfrost counts as a Shiverpeaks zone and Doric counts as a Kryta zone, for this purpose. I added some text to that effect.

However, I'm not sure about Ember Bay and Bloodstone. If anybody can confirm, that would be good. Also, I think I've seen a note on the wiki that LSS3 zones count as HoT zones. Could they count for both? Next time a HoT zone daily shows up, I'll see what I can figure out.

Finally, I added a period at the end of the HoT zone entry in the footnotes. But, I can't get it to show on the page. Daddicus (talk) 00:23, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

Confirmed: Ember Bay logging counts towards "Daily Heart of Maguuma Lumberer". I just got the daily by chopping petrified wood. --Hesione (talk) 20:45, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

LSS4 zones[edit]

I can confirm that Domain of Istan counts toward Daily Desert Forager. 68.36.94.72 05:10, 24 April 2021 (UTC)

List of past Daily Jumping Puzzles and Mini-Dungeons?[edit]

Since the 19 April 2016 update (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2016-04-19) that added jumping puzzles and minidungeons to the possible Dailies, has anyone kept a record of when and how many times each JP and minidungeon has appeared as a Daily?
I would like to know the exact frequency of each JP & MD appearing, especially the harder or longer ones like Not So Secret, Drydock Scratch, Skipping Stones, Hidden Garden, etc. --175.142.33.172 20:47, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

Daily Demolisher[edit]

Description:
"Defeat the Forged Demolisher in Kodash Bazaar. Location: Domain of Vabbi."

Apparently a lot of info is missed here, links are misguiding. First, according to Demolisher article, this NPC spawns only in The Desolation, no other places are mentioned. Second, in the Kodash Bazaar article it isn't mentioned both in the events and foes sections. Third, in the Domain of Vabbi article any mention about this event also doesn't exist. Finally, no map is provided in this article, no even a hint of a direction where to move from the starting point Vehtendi Academy Waypoint, which is suggested in the game. And it is not a common NPC, it is placed in the world boss section here! Needless to say that in the World boss article this Demolisher does not exist. Can anyone fix at least some of these issues? --109.252.109.0 10:16, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

It's unfortunately a bug in the game. It incorrectly lists the event in Vabbi, instead of the Desolation. The best we can do is put up a bug note to let players know it's wrong. —Ventriloquist 15:11, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
A bit better now, thanks! I can only hope that it will be added to buglist and fixed in reasonable time. --109.252.109.0 18:16, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Link to the three WvW veteran creatures[edit]

There used to be a page for the daily WvW Veteran Creature Slayer achievement. It listed the three vets, and you could follow a link to their individual pages. Can someone please restore that page? Daddicus (talk) 15:44, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Missing 'Wandering Cantha'. --Inculpatus cedo (talk) 01:25, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
