Mesmer? another one? oh jesus when are we gonna be able to confirm it gawd, I doubt they'd specify a profession title and not include it in the game, so Far Necros were in the books but were added until the reveal, heck it's not speculation with Evidence form the dang Lore Zachariah Zuan. 00:02, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

We are well aware that Mesmers are in the game... That is 100% confirmed. What we don't know, however, is if they are PLAYABLE as a profession. That is something we will know in the future. 75.90.147.12 01:39, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
why would they write about a profession that wouldn't be playable? they wouldn't but mesmers in the game and not allow us to be mesmers they don't have any Exclusive Professions in GW1 why would they start in 2? Zachariah Zuan. 10:11, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
We still do not know if mesmer is a playable profession because it has not been officially confirmed, you are speculating. - Giant Nuker 14:43, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
they wont confirm it until they fished out the major bugs and have balanced their skills ect, so until they are fit to play, it wont be confirmed Getefix 16:41, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
GN, I'm speculating from fact, The Evidence is that Jennah and Anise are both Mesmers, such renown characters wouldn't be given a private profession, I know we wont plant anything in cement until it's Officially Released, but can't we at least state something like "With Queen Jenna and Master Exemplar Anise as Mesmers the likleyhood of them being playable nearing certainty" or something like that Zachariah Zuan. 17:48, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
This has been discussed here so often I think people cringe when they hear the name. Short answer is no. Long answer is - everyone is pretty much already convinced that the mesmer is going to be released so there's no productive benefit to adding in the info, and it's still speculation. --Xu Davella 17:54, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
"why would they write about a profession that wouldn't be playable?" Because it's a part of the lore. The books hold no mechanic influence, they're purely lore-based. Churogens - doctor-like people by description/purpose - are mentioned in the book as professions. Diggers, scholars, priests, and so forth exist in GW1, but are not playable professions (note: by lore, the playable professions are referred to as "heroic professions"). Why not the same for a GW1 profession? If it still exists in lore, why not include it in a solely lore-based book? I don't see how whether that profession is playable or not has any influence on the situation. "such renown characters wouldn't be given a private profession" Why not? Monsters don't have playable professions, I'm sure more than just a few will be renown. Why would this be different for (most likely) allied NPCs? "can't we at least state something like "With Queen Jenna and Master Exemplar Anise as Mesmers the likleyhood of them being playable nearing certainty"" No because 1) It's not "nearing certainty" - it's just supported, but equally unsupported - and 2) that's still speculation. -- Konig/talk 20:16, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Regarding move.[edit]

In-game name is only 'Anise' and appears that way in dialogue boxes. I approve the move. Kenrid 05:30, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

User Emmett Countess Anise nameplate.jpg is used at least in some areas. It's how she introduces herself as well. I'd keep here. – Emmett 04:11, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Armor[edit]

Does anyone know what her armor set consists of? I remember reading an article that said all of the NPCs in the game use armor and character models that can be accessed by players but I can't for the life of me figure out what she is wearing.

On a related note it might not be a bad idea if we began listing the armor set that NPCs are wearing as I get a lot of questions from guildies and RPers about various armors that are worn by NPCs

I'd quite like to know what her armour is as well, it looks pretty cool. Ibiris 03:42, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

(reindent) Now that the game has been out a while, have we figured out if players can obtain her armor? 75.37.20.69 18:34, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

it's not obtainable. 68.102.197.236

Anise's combat abilities[edit]

I'm playing some instances to figure out her combat abilities and either her AI is bugged or she just doesn't possess many skills.

She only seems to use Phantasmal Swordsman in "The Coammander" personal story instance, otherwise all she seems to do is cast Chaos Armor and walk up to the enemy in melee range. She will only swing her scepter once in a blue moon. http://www.twitch.tv/qtunicorn/b/553356527

Should I add Phantasmal Swordsman in her combat abilities? It seems more like a scripted effect and not an ability she actually has.

Age[edit]

How about we just make a trivia note on her that she's actually Livia? 86.50.88.145 06:12, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Feedback 2017/02/16[edit]

After bossfight in Confessor's End (LW S3E4) she says to Canach: "You served me faithfully and, given the BEARDED REPTILE buried somewhere beneath me, you have held up your end of the bargain." hinting on her beaing a Forgotten. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.201.44.247 (talk).

I am 99.9 with a lot more 9s percent sure that this is just a reference to the common tinfoil hat RL conspiracy that the world is run by reptilians in disguise. Besides, the last Forgotten said he was not long for the world. Basically, Forgotten are no more on the world of Tyria. Konig (talk) 18:00, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
Here I thought it was referring to beards having reached the pinnacle of their power with even lizards putting them on for show. Then again, eyebrows are also a distinguishing feature when separating the powerful from the underlings. But of course the comment by Anise would only make sense if a powerful bearded fellow were buried under the manor after say, a grueling fight? G R E E N E R 18:10, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
Talking about Caudecus was my first thought too. And a likely one. But I like the idea of referencing a silly conspiracy theory given that Anise is subject to dozens of silly conspiracy theories by the game population. Konig (talk) 20:18, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
Oh I have no doubt it crossed your mind first. To be honest, I'm just saddened by the fact that you didn't leave a few percent to cover how Anise was likely the puppet master behind the failed Moustasheod Reptile Revolt of 1322. Felt you kinda dropped the ball there. G R E E N E R 21:05, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
Personally I feel that the Bearded Bear Battle of 1324 (the "BBB") would be of more relevance in this particular case. —Ventriloquist 21:12, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
