Works like a mark?[edit]

"In the G-Star demo it was seen to work like other mark skills." Does this mean that the 2 death magic traits that affect marks would also affect this? Raziah 05:24, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Yes, because Chillblains seems to BE a mark now. Gnarf 12:05, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

odd pulsing behavior[edit]

I noticed something while testing Vampiric -- Vampiric is triggered three times (about once per second) for each enemy within the Chillblains mark when it's triggered. Not really sure why this is the case since the full poison and chill durations seem to be applied right away. Can't say I'm really complaining though. tanpopo 11:13, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

Late answer but: Should it still behave this way it probably does so for the same reason Well of Blood triggers Vampiric, it leaves a combofield and for some reason the trait counts them as spell-hits, at least that would be my explanation. Lou Wolfskin (talk) 05:05, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Rename[edit]

The skill was renamed way earlier than April 19, 2022.

  • First, there's no entry in this API changes tool which documents API changes since around late 2020 if I'm correct, set the time frame large enough, tick only name and then search either for "Chillblains" or the id "10605".
  • Guild Wars 2 Easy Mode (I love the fact that you can increase the max_entries in the address bar) lists the skill in the section "2019-09-01" with pretty much all skills, so I guess (and also might recall it darkly) the database crashed at this point and was set up again. Also not sure how exactly the old or new name is displayed.

Well, I already wrote this before starting to check youtube videos, so nevermind this above (however, these tools are quite handy so it might be worth noting it anyways).

So I found these videos already stating "Chillblains" with two L's:

  • Video from June 10, 2012
  • Video from July 29, 2012
  • Video from September 14, 2012

So not sure if "finally renamed" is a fitting description, most likely the skill name was fixed in late 2011 and or early 2012, the betas before the offical August 2012 launch already had the correct name. --Tolkyria (talk) 09:44, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

I'm equally happy not to document it. I suspect it appearing in several patch notes with it spelled incorrectly didn't help.-Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 10:22, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
