Talk:A Light in the Darkness

I think I'm bugged, when I try to enter the tomb, the star still is on her head with no marks of advancing into the story. The 'Avatar Of The Tree' is just standing there at the entrace of the tomb and when I enter the tomb is empty, is this a bug? I just ran into the same problem. I've reported it to help. ~Rylssa 01:03, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
Is it me or is that eye thing immune to conditions? I put 15 stacks of bleeding on him, and they just magically disappear? Conditions magically disappearing: really nice, on a condition based build. Filled in the dialogues for this storyline quest, but I missed making notes on the various PoI's that were discovered on the quest, so couldn't put in references for the wall 'o dialogue :( Darth Cupcake 12:21, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
Just wanted to let you know, the rewards for the Guardian are incorrect, and I can't figure out how to fix them. The Guardian doesn't get the choice of the Light Axe. Instead, s/he gets the Light Scepter. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.255.73.251 (talkcontribs) at 10:12, 30 October 2012 (UTC).
When you use the Mass Invisibility skill, you can turn the whole ghost army back to their normal non-ghostly state. I thought that was kind of cool. :) Saeri 21:16, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Bugged progress again at the Promenade of the Gods, Pale Tree and Trahearne wouldn't initiate dialogue, reported it to Anet. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.97.193.245 (talkcontribs) at 15:30, 3 November 2012 (UTC).
Attempted quest again, Trahearne and Pale Tree failed to initiate dialogue at all upon entering the vision, so I'm guessing the general dialogue initiation throughout the quest is bugged. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.97.193.245 (talkcontribs) at 15:45, 3 November 2012 (UTC).
Wanted to check if others have had a problem advancing the story after the Veteran Risen Giant. Twice in a row, I've had a Thrall appear somewhere up in the "trees" where no one can hit it. 24.1.178.172 00:16, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

I noticed the Dialogues section doesn't have the conversation between your character and the Avatar at the end, when you return to the Grove after beating the champion: the dialogue tree where you are asked your greatest fear. Is that intentional? If not, should it be added in its appropriate place? Just a thought. - ESCRaven

Greatest fear vs the nav below the walkthrough[edit]

The nav in the walkthrough doesn't make it at all obvious which missions will be chosen by the dialogue choice. Perhaps I'll fix it when I've found out which missions I just picked with "dishonored my allies" -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:27, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

The nav is like that because the Greatest Fear arc got removed last september. It will come back later though: [1]. If you want to see those missions you need to stop your story progression before completing Forging the Pact.Tyndel (talk) 17:43, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
Ah I see. So basically if I wait >8 weeks before doing the next mission then the personal story will be longer. ... yeah right. :D -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:29, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
It'll be longer, by about 4 story steps, but it will make sense and not ignore your choices, give you a migraine trying to make sense of why the kitten such changes were done, and will reward you more (more steps = more step completion rewards, and in regards to where the new rewards will be, it'll be comparatively 4 level 80 steps added). Helicopter?[edit]

At this point of dialogue with the Avatar of the Tree...

Trahearne: These monsters are horrific! Worse than the ones at Claw Island. How can we possibly defeat them?

Look up in the sky and there is a helicopter-looking thing. What's up with that?

Good spot. :P That is a pact helicopter. You see them in missions such as Victory or Death. I'm surprised there isn't a basic article with a close-up picture of them though. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 22:20, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
There isn't? Weird, thought there was. And technically, they belong to the Iron Legion - like the Pact's tanks, they're a 'gift' from the charr. Konig 00:21, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
Saw this topic and the first thing that came to mind was the Commando choppers from the April Fools prank years ago. Thought we were being toyed with for a sec. But yeah, it's the pact. Because it turns out their technology winds up reaching a level not too far shy of what had been a worthy prank previously. Lysander (talk) 01:19, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Dialogue Edit? Seriously?[edit]

I mean honestly! How many times did they say this was an uncertain vision of the future that is specifically subject to change? And Anet went and messed up the dialogue on this mission? I honestly liked the old quotes better! (And Caithe actually agreed to fall into the Nightmare? I didn't know that before! It was just heavily implied!) They're all the originals better! They show the character and personality of the character's personalities much better! I mean honestly! Can't ArenaNet show some sense sometimes, at least? Sorry for the rant, I just need to blow off steam occasionally. ~~TiffanySmith.8216 10:09, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
