The Old Storyteller is an elderly Canthan in Teleri Village regaling a group of kids with tales about their people, the Luxons.

- You look as though you've got an adventurous spirit. Brings back memories of my younger days. I scaled Qinkaishi once, you know. Completely alone—and barefoot!
You're a storyteller?
- Oh, yes. Must keep the history of our people alive. We've got a grand tradition to preserve. Maybe now that there's somewhere to sail out to, we'll get the motivation to go back to the sea!
- Why did you stop?
- The Ministry of Purity destroyed all of our ships—we had great Leviathans that could cross jade waters, but they dismantled them one by one. Knowing if they could take that from us, we'd be cowed...
- From your tone, it sadly sounds like it worked?ˇ
- Yes. To take away a nomad's ability to roam is to pull the heart right out of their chest. We lost our heart, and we've never recovered.
- I'm sorry.
- Eh. Keep your pity. We're still here. Still breathing. One day maybe we'll find our heart again.
