I fear for our Voice. To go so long able to see and speak but unable to act ... I can only listen and worry. Only a Claw can listen and know how to act.

What happened to the Claw?

A strange creature appeared as the Claw was tending to his duties. It slew him and vanished, paying no heed to anyone else. We are lucky more weren't killed, but the Claw's loss is heavier than any stone.

The Voice is an extension of Koda's will and, as such, also remembers the wisdom of Koda from Voices prior. As the Voice's attendant, I also learn these histories to preserve them through the ages.

During the selection

I feared none were able to act as Koda's Claw, but two potential Claws have risen: Silent Snowfall and Ice Raking. Koda needs but one Claw, and so a trial will be held to determine the most able.

Silent Snowfall is strong, perceptive, patient. When she chooses to speak or act, is it swiftly and with great purpose. She calms herself for the coming trial with meditation on the beach.

Ice Raking is driven and charismatic. To him, every hurdle is an opportunity, and that view earns him much respect. I hear he is in the sanctuary seeking a challenge to steel himself before the trial.

Without a Claw to act, the Voice suffered the pain of knowing but being unable to speak. Ice Raking's strength and leadership allow him to hear the Voice so we can understand Koda's will.
