Gideon Hastings helps his mom on the beehive farm on the northern shore of the Clayent Falls lake in Queensdale. He doesn't seem happy to live with his mom on her farm and her obsession of bees is driving him crazy.

- My mom's crazier than a sylvari in a sack of lightning bugs. All she ever talks about is her bees. Always with the bees. I should be off living my own life, but I'm stuck here helping her!
What do you do here?
- Well, I fix the bee boxes here. That shouldn't be much work, right? No. They get wrecked all the time. Why my mother won't move them someplace[sic] away from bears, I don't know. I think she wants trouble.
- She wants trouble?
- She must. I think she picks fights with the bears just to teach 'em a lesson. You know she names the bees, right? She names the bears,[sic] too, using language that'd pin your ears back.
- Your mother sure is weird.
- She sure is. She sings lullabies to the bees sometimes. Just thinking about it makes me want to go home. Why me?
Hang in there, it'll get better someday. Maybe.
- This is getting kind of creepy, I need to go.
- No clue. I'll be going now.
- That's too bad. I can leave whenever I want. Like now!
