Dialogue[edit]
- Event pre
- Historian Vermoth: There's some kind of energy field surrounding the altar. I can't get through.
- Historian Vermoth: A ghost! Stand back!
- Malchor the Sculptor: Priestess, ha! You never knew Dwayna, not as I did. You never gazed into her luminous face...
- Malchor the Sculptor: (scream) My eyes! I see nothing...Nothing but you, my goddess. Nothing but a perfection I can never recapture...
- Malchor the Sculptor: I can't take it anymore!
- Malchor the Sculptor: Dwayna!
- Historian Vermoth: By the Six, that was him! Malchor. Well, it was his spirit at least.
- Historian Vermoth: Legend says his love for Dwayna drove him to leap off her temple to his death. He seemed to be reliving that.
- Historian Vermoth: Oh, I see! He's using his spirit as a shield, protecting Dwayna's altar with his energy. That means he's the only one who can remove it.
- Historian Vermoth: We must find out where his spirit's hiding and then drive him back up here to the altar.
- Historian Vermoth: Malchor's ghost created this barrier. Only his spirit can remove it. We need to get him back here.
- Event start
- Malchor the Sculptor: I won't go back there! I can't face her!
- Malchor the Sculptor: Dwayna is radiant, perfect...beauty itself, distilled into its purest form. I labored for years to capture her grace in stone, but I lacked the skill. It drove me mad.
- Malchor the Sculptor: I cringed whenever some fool admired my pathetic attempts at sculpture. Why? Why was I cursed with these talentless hands?
- Malchor the Sculptor: I can't go back there. Her altar reminds me of my passion...and my failure.
- At 75% resolve
- Malchor the Sculptor: Leave me alone!
- Malchor the Sculptor: Enough! I will go no farther.
- At 50% resolve
- Malchor the Sculptor: Leave me alone!
- Malchor the Sculptor: The lights... Is it time for the festival? Dwayna, where are your followers?
- Malchor the Sculptor: What is this? Rotted, mindless drones. Shameful! I'll be no part of this. Make them go away!
- Malchor the Sculptor: Filth! Your very existence mocks the goddess of life.
- After 8 Risen defeated
- Malchor the Sculptor: Wretched undead! You don't deserve to walk in Dwayna's light!
- Malchor the Sculptor: Filth! Your very existence mocks the goddess of life.
- After all the Risen are defeated
- Malchor the Sculptor: Are they gone? Perhaps I can get a little bit closer...
- Malchor the Sculptor: Her eyes, I feel them watching me. Look away, goddess! Let me hide my shame.
- Malchor the Sculptor: Forgive me! I did the best I could...
- Malchor the Sculptor: Leave me alone!
- Malchor the Sculptor: My tribute to Dwayna lies near. No! Stay away from her! This one place must remain unsullied. My pure offering to the goddess.
- Historian Vermoth: Just a little more. Drive him into the barrier!
- Event completion
- Malchor the Sculptor: I have failed you, my goddess.
- Historian Vermoth: Stand down. He's defeated. Let him speak his piece.
- Malchor the Sculptor: You asked me to carve your image so people might know you, but I could never capture your grace, your beauty.
- Malchor the Sculptor: And now the small protection I've placed upon it must fall...I've failed to protect you, my love.
Notes[edit]
- Malchor's "Dwayna" cry can be heard throughout the map, regardless if you are near the event or not.
