Walkthrough[edit]

Overview[edit]

The Legendary Ravenous Wanderer has Haze-Made Form which renders it nearly immune to regular damage. The only way to significantly harm it is by destroying Haze Hearts. The boss's defiance bar must be depleted to spawn them, and there are two ways to do so: Battery-Charged Rifles, and the Jade Behemoth. While players attempt to utilise the equipment, the boss will be throwing AoE fields across the central area, raising walls and making shockwave attacks. It will also have a dangerous haze aura while it maintains its haze form, however this and the other attacks serve only as obstacles than any real threat (the haze aura will kill you if stay within it long enough).

Each equipment for depleting the defiance bar requires fully charging a battery before it can be unleashed. As with the previous events, players mounted on Siege Turtle (map icon).png Siege Turtles can collect Unbound Ley-Line Energy—players without a turtle may borrow one from one of the rental NPCs nearby, for free. The Jade Walls that the boss summons contain quite a few of the energy orbs, and Corrupted Jade can also be shattered (but take a few more hits to do so). To deliver their charges to a battery, players must be inside the battery's charge zone. However, any enemies inside this zone will prevent the battery taking charges.

Snipers[edit]

To the west of the boss is a platform where a rifle bundle can be equipped. The first two skills are ineffective against the boss, but can be used to help shatter jade for turtles to collect ley energy. The third skill, High-Charge Round, does defiance damage to the boss, although it has a 300 second cooldown. Once charged, the battery will create an AoE at the platform edge where High-Charge Round's cooldown will rapidly reduce (becoming effectively ~5 seconds). These shots will drain the battery until empty before allowing it to be recharged again.

Behemoth[edit]

To the east is a Mysterious Shipment. After an initial battery charge it will release the Jade Behemoth to attack the boss. It will do a set amount of defiance damage (around 35%) before retreating to recharge. 10 seconds after being fully charged, two battery charge zones will appear/reappear. Though both zones must be clear before either can take a charge, both batteries pool the charges. Upon fully charging, the behemoth will be able to attack again.

Hearts[edit]

After utilising any means to deplete the boss's defiance, three Haze Hearts will be ejected. These land below the sniper platform, outside the exit of the tunnel, and north-east of the boss (towards the behemoth). Players have a short window of time (60 seconds) to destroy the hearts, each of which will damage the boss for every 25% depleted. After all three are destroyed (or the timer expires) the boss returns to the previous phase of depleting its defiance.

Once the boss reaches 0%, any remaining hearts vanish and the boss loses the haze form, collapsing before the players. The boss recovers 5% health, but without its haze form players can easily put a final end to the boss with regular attacks.

Dialogue[edit]

Event start
Chul-Moo: I'm back! Nothin' to see here. Just had to take care of some—
Chul-Moo: What the...? The hell did it do? Did it get bigger? And uglier?
Chul-Moo: In my experience, the guys who gotta act big and tough are always the most scared. Let's see if this is one of 'em!
Chul-Moo: The plan's still on: Spread out! Turtles, you work on charging up the batteries. The rest of you, grab those rifles!
Chul-Moo: Snipers, shoot the big guy. That should give us an in, do some major damage.
Chul-Moo: And snipe some of that haze crap while you're up there. Our turtles can use that to supply power.
During event
Chul-Moo: Keep getting that energy to the railyard and overlook! Got a little susprise for our guest here.
Chul-Moo: Remember, we got that "new shipment" over at the railyard, ready to be charged up!
Chul-Moo: These batteries need some juice. Charge 'em up!
Chul-Moo: Give those batteries a good charge!
Chul-Moo: Turtles, get that energy to the batteries!
(Interacting with Battery-Charged Rifles)
Chul-Moo: Go ahead and overcharge those rifles! We've got enough spares to keep us going. Leave 'em hooked up to the batteries.
Chul-Moo: Leave those rifles charging! I wouldn't normally overcharge 'em, but we need all the power we can get.
(Successfully powering up a Jade Behemoth)
Chul-Moo: Ha! That's what I'm talking about! Beat that fool to a pulp!
Chul-Moo: Hell yeah! That's what ya get when you mess with the Brotherhood!
Walking over Unbound Ley-Line Energy without Siege Turtle
Chul-Moo: Whoa, hold on. You need the turtle's jade reactor if you wanna carry that.
Chul-Moo: What are you doing? You can't carry that yourself. You need the turtle's jade reactor.
Boss becomes vulnerable to normal attacks
Chul-Moo: Here we go! Got it right where we want it. Let's deal with this once and for all!
Chul-Moo: It's time!
Event success
Chul-Moo: That did it. We did it. And that's why you don't mess with the Brotherhood...
Chul-Moo: Or our associates. Thanks for the help.

Notes[edit]

  • One of the limiting factors of the fight is clearing the charge zones quickly. Since ley energy charges remain on the player (and can be delivered) after dismounting, it is recommended to do so to speed up clearing the zones (most players can out-dps the turtle's slam). Another tactic (more easily done for the behemoth) is to intercept enemies before they enter the zones and/or lure melee enemies out, allowing charging to begin before all the enemies are slain.
