Weapon trait formatting
As you edit conflicted me three times, and I had to fix some stuff, I will explain how I am doing weapon type traits. For single hand weapons (aka, main hand weapons, excluding scepter) you need to specify if it is main-hand or off-hand so that it is properly categorized. Aqua (T|C) 05:57, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- kk. lol, i just left you a message to about that. So you want to always specify main/off hand even if there is only one option. Will do. --Moto Saxon 06:00, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
New attunement icons
Could you crop them in the height > width standard instead, by any chance? That's what the highest quality skill icons do as well. (For instance 64x65/66.) - Infinite - talk 14:16, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

What font are you using on File:User Saxon Purple Variant.png? Or if it's done by hand, do you think you could put up just the white text on a transparent background for me? - Tanetris 20:27, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Thought you would like this template; I'm sure you would. - Aios 2:07, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- Sweet! I saw you working on this, but couldn't figure out what the heck it was. So I guess you like coding/making templates as much as I like playing in photoshop :) --Moto Saxon 02:39, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ha! Yeh. :) I'm working on it still. Apparently I could make the empty one and use /div to make green go instead of using multiple images. - Aios 2:50, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
TF2

My IGN is GreenEarth28 as well. and sorry, I want to stay with my current guild, but if you want to play TF2 on a server, sure, as I don't feel like Guild Wars... GreenEarth28
I might be on GW next week, as my cousins will come back as well. GreenEarth28
Testing
Finally, it seems like the RC are now updating. For a while I they weren't updating for me. Was anyone else having that issue? --Moto Saxon 17:44, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

- I've been thinking about making my own userpage template, but I have no idea how to do it. lol -Fabian 04:18, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Alpha Testing
Apparently alpha testing has already started. I didn't know that until today. Does that mean that, to a degree, everything in the game is finished enough to start testing for bugs? Is it safe to assume all races, professions, storyline, dynamic events, and pvp is up and running? I'm not very knowledgeable on what is involved in alpha testing. --Moto Saxon 19:32, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- Alpha testing is the process prior to Beta testing (as you are aware) that is only open to ArenaNet developers, their friends and relatives and as a very rare occurence; by invitation. It is intended to test the raw gameplay and adjust it to improve the overall gameplay (in example, to get the parts ready for use in the playable demos). The finer fixes are taken care of during Beta testing. Not to worry, Alpha testing usually occurs the moment a virtual world is created by the developers and lasts until it's developed up to the point where invitations for Beta testing are handed out. Alpha testing occurs in many stages as well; some games have closed alpha testing to a select public near the start of Beta testing, to help the game prepare for its Beta stage. Basically it's a huge sandbox, like we have sandboxes on wiki. I hope that clears it up a bit. - Infinite - talk 20:32, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Charr Naming Convention's
Hey Saxon, I'm hoping you could help me with finding some info on how the Charr name themselves. I understand that the last name is part of their warband & gennerally, part their weapon or weapon fighting method of choice. But what about their 1st name (Like Pyre)? And usually, do you know or can you help me find some examples of Charr warband names? --SpiritSplit 19:49, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hey Saxon,
- Just want to let you know that I took care of that last name issue I had. All I need to figureout now is where those darn 1st names come from, thank's --SpiritSplit 20:02, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- From what I've read the last name is derived by the individual Charr, but must include the common name that ties his warband together. I haven't read anything about first names. But we do know that Pyre's father was named Vatlaaw, and Pyre's granddaughter was named Kalla. So there doesn't seem to be any ties with in the family line. Cubs live with there mother/parents for the first few months before going to Fahrar, so I'm guessing the first name is just chosen by the parents before going to Fahrar. --Moto Saxon 20:34, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Charr names are quite simple in their most basic forms: A first name (or given name, as you will) followed by a surname made up by mixing the warband name and the profession indicating name. An example can be found in Pyre Fierceshot; Pyre is his given name, Fierce is his warband and shot indicates his profession as a ranger (or use of bows would be more accurate). Most/all charr names follow this standard structure. - Infinite - talk 20:45, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the simplification Infinite :) --Moto Saxon 21:00, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thank's Saxon, Infinite... my question was answered. I was simply curious on wether or not the first name was special like the last name. Good to know not, now I have more free will on naming my Charr character. TY. --SpiritSplit 23:37, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Characters
I need coding help
I have the meat of the character page finished, but now I've hit a wall that I can't figure out. I am trying to do something similar to Shew's template. Specifically I am trying to add profession tango's above the character box, that when clicked would bring up the info for my character of that profession...similarly to how Shew's template allows for up to 8 character bio's which can by toggled by clicking the corresponding "any tango". I would be grateful of any help and/or suggestions :) --Moto Saxon 17:14, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Here's how I did it:
- Make a container div with overflow hidden that has a size equal to one character pane. This is the page template.
- Have optional parameters inside this container div. The parameters should be character pane templates.
- Look at this. I've added anchors to the beginning of each character pane present. If you want to have the icon displayed dependent on the profession, then you need to allocate parameters to the page template that calls for a profession. I.e. charPane1Profession = ; charPane2Profession = ; etc. You could implement that by . Anything I need to clear up?-- Shew 17:32, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Shew's template (and my WIP skill bar template) use <span id="whatever"></span> to assign specific areas of the template to a "header", much like how the wiki links function when linking to a specific header (User_talk:Infinite#It would seem...). This way, we can make the images link to that section on the same page (and thus call new parts of the template to scroll in). -- Infinite 17:16, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- M'kay, thanks guys. I think I understand the concept of what I need to do. It's just a matter of getting the coding right. And the only coding that I know is what I've been picking up on this wiki that last few weeks. So I'm sure I'll have more questions later, but thanks for getting me headed in the right direction. --Moto Saxon 02:22, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if my coding is close or still way off. Based off of Shew's template, I tried adding the same coding and then modifying it to my page. The profession tango's show up. And I have added my 4 profession bio's with in the page template...but for some reason when you click the tango, it does not reveal it's corresponding professions bio --- I have no clue as to how to link them. --Moto Saxon 16:40, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- to make a image link to something you do this: or in ur case this or the place that you want it to go - Zesbeer 23:01, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

i hope you dont mind that i re did the category's so they show what pics i made for each one.- Zesbeer 23:01, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
It's too BIG
why the heck is the first column to wide on this page? Can anyone fix it for me? --Moto Saxon 20:06, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Aside from it being what she said, you specified 50% of the total width of the table for the 5 other columns. This leaves 50% for the first column. :) - Infinite - talk 20:54, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Mind Trick
I don't remember the mind trick thing being listed, only that people who enjoy ritualists (engineer) and mesmers will still feel at home. Where did the mind trick thing come from? ~~ Kiomadoushi 02:24, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

- Thanks Shew. I know it was also mentioned in either an english interview or video. --Moto Saxon 02:46, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, thanks. Just read that (that's from before engineer, as he says both light and medium armor professions remain) But of course, the engineer is not a mind trick profession (the thief COULD be, maybe, if you call appearing and disappearing mind tricks). But yeah, thank you for that =) ~~ Kiomadoushi 02:48, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Le deduction von Sirrush
Selfquotin' from Reddit: Now let's do some logical assuming. The ranger, elementalist, warrior and necromancer are in, the Assassin became the Thief, the Paragon and Ritualist evolved more or less into Guardians, and dedicated healers (Monk) are out, as are scythes (Dervish). Which GW1 profession does that leave? Mesmer. --Sirrush 01:25, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, that is the general thought, but here I actually have the sources, which are a little more convincing then just a fan quote. --Moto Saxon 14:37, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Lies, I am the most convincingest of them all! --Sirrush 16:08, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
