- Search other user's pages for information, and perhaps have a look at their pages in editing mode for further inspiration. If that doesn't help you you could always have a look here for people who can help. -- Kings & Queens | T | C | 20:33, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

sylvari
Does anyone know how to name them? I've only heard the names of three sylvari. (Killeen,Caithe, and the evil one]) --'Mai Yi' talk 15:34, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Sylvari Name Generator! =D or choose a mysterious name ;) --The Holy Dragons 15:38, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- It's an "elf" name generator, not a Sylvari. ("The sylvari are the elves of Audalis." What?) I was hoping someone who was working on GW2 said in a post somewhere about how the Sylvari are named. Hard to think of a name. :( --'Mai Yi' talk 15:42, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- srry I don't recall such a post :S --The Holy Dragons 15:45, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I use gaelic/celtic names and words as the base of sylvari names. It appears as the creators of Caithe, Faolain and Killeen have done the same. — Orrery 15:45, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

- Gender: Feminine
- Usage: Spanish, Latin, Biblical
- Pronounced: key-ree-ay
- From the phrase 'Kyrie eleison', which came from Greek Kûrie eleçson, "Lord, have mercy". Kûrie is the vocative of kûrios, "lord, master". --The Holy Dragons 15:52, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- male or female charr? --The Holy Dragons 15:54, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- for male:
- HRÓARR
- Gender: Masculine
- Usage: Ancient Scandinavian
- Old Norse name, derived from the element hróð "fame" combined with either geirr "spear" (making it a relation of HRÓÐGEIRR), harja "army" or warja "defender". This of a legendary Danish king, the same one who is featured in the Anglo-Saxon poem 'Beowulf' with the name Hroðgar.
- Gaelic/Irish is the correct base for Sylvari names (such as mine are Eithne and Aoife). - Infinite - talk 15:57, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Though it might not be considered "original", inspiration of charr names could perhaps come from gw1:Category:Charr. — Orrery 15:59, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- ARMORED SAURUS! --The Holy Dragons 16:00, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Okay I'll try Gaelic for my Sylvari. Sorry Orrery, but the list of Charr wont help me becase there are no female Charr in GW1. --'Mai Yi' talk 16:01, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- If I'm getting a charr I would call him/her ... fluffypaw from the fluffy warband =D (you may join my warband if you're strong enough! =D_) --The Holy Dragons 16:07, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Charr male names are often described as intimidating; I would think a female charr that goes out to fight also assumes an intimidating name. The typical last name exists of <Warband><profession indication>. I hope this helps slightly. - Infinite - talk 16:08, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Good point. The only known female charr are Bathea Havocbringer, Kalla Scorchrazor and Almorra Soulkeeper. Not much of inspiration, but perhaps better than nothing. — Orrery 16:09, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I researched some Ancient Gaelic names, I like: Maire (beloved), Caitrin (pure), Eilis (God is my oath). As for my Charr name, I was thinking mostly of the first name becuase I do not know which profession (or Warband) I want her to be. --'Mai Yi' talk 16:14, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Orrery do you hate Ember Doomforge? --The Holy Dragons 16:20, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, crap.. How can I forget the third most awesome character of Ghost of Ascalon?! I am deeply sorry :) — Orrery 16:24, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Interrupt
In the original Guild Wars, both Rangers and Mesmers had interrupts. So far, Rangers have no skills which interrupt. So who will have interrupts? --'Mai Yi' {TC} 13:53, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- No one, I'll see if I can find the source. Venom20 13:56, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- "Dshots, pblocks, pleaks winning matches happens often, but the lambda player is likely to miss them. Considering the rupts are entirely ping-dependant, you're left with a system quite competition-unfriendly" from Izzy during this interview Venom20 13:59, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Interrupts are completely the same as trying to knockdown/knock back/stun someone using a skill. So why take them out? --'Mai Yi' {TC} 14:02, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Interrupts are fun in GW. I guess I cant do it in GW2. :( What is left for GW2 mesmers? --'Mai Yi' {TC} 18:57, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- super awesome illusions? --The Holy Dragons 19:06, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well without interrupts there is still energy/adrenaline denial, attacking/ing punishment, and health/energy degeneration.--'Mai Yi' {TC} 19:09, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- See my prediction page for a take on the GW2 Mesmer. :> - Infinite - talk 19:10, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- I like your predictions, but I will miss interrupts. Without hexes, the original illusion magic line ends. Without interrupts, half of all the skills are gone. This leaves room to expand upon Domination and Inspiration, which includes shutdowns and energy draining, like you predicted. If the in-game mesmers are anything like you predict, they sound fun. :) --'Mai Yi' {TC} 01:47, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Funny as this is what I was telling you about yesterday XD Exactly! though no sword D: --The Holy Dragons 15:23, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Pets
Are rangers the only profession to use pets? --'Mai Yi' {TC} 18:12, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- hmm I thought it was stated at least 2 professions got pets (but rangers use are the best at using them!)--The Holy Dragons 18:17, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
