Updating pages[edit]

Thanks for going through all of those pages and fixing/adding their IDs and icons. Greener (talk) 22:47, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Tansclusion/Include of pages[edit]

I noticed you were copy-pasting some sections of your guides in several places, most notably the Meta Food section (you have the page itself, the raid guide and now Tanetris guide too). So looked up a bit and there is a nice way to only have to maintain one of those pages (for the table mostly since it's the more annoying/worth). It could be extended for other things to make some parts of the guides more modular. If you want to have a look I did a small example on my page. Since it's not a small change I did not want to go in and change it myself on your pages without mentionning it before. If you think it could be useful I could set it up over the weekend (or yourself if you are faster than me ^^).

BackIsBachus (talk) 22:38, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

You're right, I should set that up! It got this way due to me wanting to have a separate page for it and then including it back in my in progress raid guide. I'm not sure what I want to do with the User:Tanetris/So You Want To Gear a Character guide since that's still kind of his and I think it should all be there maybe? Well anyways good idea, I'll just go ahead and add it to my raid guide and then think about adding it to the other guide. Dak393 (talk) 22:43, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

Extended Editor rights[edit]

Hey Dak, I see that you've been doing a lot of moves for the wiki. As you've probably noticed, these moves leave behind redirects which need to be tagged by you and then deleted by our sysops. Would you be interested in extended editor rights, specifically highlighting the 'suppress redirect ability? Greener (talk) 21:47, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Yes, that would be great! Would mean Inc doesn't need to run through and clean up after me lol. Dak393 (talk) 21:52, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Done. Enjoy, and beware the rollback button. Greener (talk) 21:54, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Extended editors details how to hide the rollback button. —Kvothe (talk) 22:54, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Gratz you are now a real editor. :) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:02, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Just wanted to say, I'm returning to the game for the first time since I capped a character at launch and your guides have massively helped with the feeling of being overwhelmed and I have a feeling I'll refer back to them a few times over the coming weeks, so thank you for the effort taken to make them! --Omgnova (talk) 08:50, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

Glad you're finding it helpful :D Let me know if anything should be changed or added too, really helps to know what people want me to focus on. Dak393 (talk) 03:36, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for tidying up the portal links for me, I was being lazy and letting them sit since they were all directing to the disambig anyway. :p —Idris User Idris signature.png 05:24, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

Masteries unlocking[edit]

You removed info about unlocking masteries by guild hall - without any info how you checked that. It works, and it's only way to stop bugged masteries pop-up. Removing info about that workaround is bad. You probably didn't have any masteries points on a new account, you need to earn a point first. 21:35, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

I tested the supposed unlock method "visiting a Guild Hall and going outside" and it did not unlock the mastery system, including central Tyria. Are you claiming that you require a mastery point unlocked? Because basically every account at that point will have at least a point unlocked (I can triple check but I'm 99% sure I did) and it still did not unlock the mastery system. If you're instead saying that it only gets rid of the mastery system pop-up and does not unlock the block of mastery I don't think I double checked that but it wouldn't belong in that section if true. Would need another mention of it stopping the pop-up not "Unlocking the mastery system and its blocks". So if you want to clarify I can see if there is another account to test with. Also I do suggest you make a wiki account so people can communicate with you and trust posts more than a random IP Dak393 (talk) 23:10, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Mastery System unlocks when you go outside from one of the guild halls to Domain of Vabbi or Auric Basin, the little pad lock near Central Tyria is unlocked in those locations. But if you go back to Central Tyria, without doing anything, then Masteries will be locked again. You need to earn a red mastery point from Central Tyria first, and then go through the guild hall to spend it.
The pop-up appears when you earn that Central Tyria point and have lvl80 and max XP bar - but when being in Central Tyria you can't spend that point and pop-up will nag you all the time. But earned mastery point can be spend as above and the pop-up will go away.
There are instructions from few players how to do it, in the thread on the forum, linked in discussion, maybe some are more clearer then others, but anyway, this workaround works 20:37, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Above icon[edit]

Hello there. As it seems you're the person to ask about this sort of thing, would you mind retrieving the icon for File:Above.png in the dat? Sunlion (talk) 23:36, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

Found the 16x16 versions, don't think there are larger ones based on the other map icon sizes and the fact that it wasn't in all the locations I expected it. Uploaded both above and below icons. Dak393 (talk) 00:30, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Thanks. Sunlion (talk) 00:31, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Also, would it be possible for you to find and upload a clean version of File:Mists Rift map.jpg? Sunlion (talk) 00:43, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Isn't File:Mists_Rift_map_(clean).jpg what you want? Dak393 (talk) 00:44, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Yes, thank you. Apologies for not noticing that. Sunlion (talk) 00:47, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
Would you mind seeing if you can find the portraits for Unstable Exterminator Core and Unstable Inquest Power Core? Sunlion (talk) 05:30, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Pretty sure they were up and then deleted, I can upload them again but just wanna make sure it's the right ones. I don't think you use discord but it would be real helpful if I could sent you some images or if you could send me the in game shot of what you're looking for. For now I'll upload the one I'm more sure of as it's normal image (File:1964720.png), can crop it as well if needed later. Dak393 (talk) 06:03, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

Screw it I uploaded what I `think` is the other one, can just delete if it's not: File:1964721.png. Dak393 (talk) 06:10, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
It is the correct icon from what I can see. Just needs to be cropped. Should I dm you a screenshot of the icon through discord? (didn't manage to get a screenshot of the purple version) Sunlion (talk) 06:53, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
Ya DM me whatever you have, I can crop and upload new versions for the two right now Dak393 (talk) 08:49, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
I restored the 128 x 128 versions. File:Unstable Exterminator Core portrait.png seems to throw an error at the moment maybe you can see if there is a 128 x 128 version in the files and reupload - then I can delete the old 128 x 128. —Kvothe (talk) 13:36, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

Guild trek images + ids[edit]

Thanks to you adding the ids to the 128x64px guild trek images you uploaded ages ago, and User:Kvothe for moving them, this enabled me to bulk upload the next file along which was twice the size for the remaining images :D -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 00:16, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

I saw when I got over 100 emails lol. Had to turn of updates for a while. I was working on going through them all with the larger sizes but didn't have the time so you batch updating them is a huge help, thanks! Dak393 (talk) 01:27, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
Teamwork! —Kvothe (talk) 13:36, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
