Isn't this just the Dark Vigil? -- pling User Pling sig.png 14:47, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Unless players can be evil, I don't think it is. + the Nightmare Court have the Dark Vigils, not various races.-- Shew 14:50, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

I don't believe it has anything to do with the Dark Vigils of the Nightmare Court...-- Shew 05:00, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

The connection could just be via the name, though I doubt that. Personally, I think that the Vigil is a non-"evil" form of the Dark Vigil. Thought I'd add it, but it doesn't need to be there. -- Konig/talk 05:10, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
All we know is the name. Vigil seems to be the name of a group, while the Dark Vigil seems to be the name of an event. There's nothing really connecting the two. --Santax (talk · contribs) 10:10, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
My question is, why do you think Dark Vigil is the name of an event? Ree said that "Their Dark Vigils are things of legend, filled with regal depravity; twisted courtliness and sadistic tournaments that pervert Sylvari chivalry. Their greatest ambition: to turn the Pale Tree herself to the Nightmare, and envelop the world in cruelty and bedlam." No where does it say that they are events. They could easily be groups filled with depravity, twisted courtliness, and sadistic tournaments. They don't have to be the act of those things. I.e., they could be the hosters not the hosted. -- Konig/talk 18:24, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
They could be groups. The fact that "things" is used makes me think otherwise. It just doesn't seem like a word that would be used to refer to a group of beings.-- Shew 18:38, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, thing is used to refer to a single being, although uncommon (except when talking about mysterious or horrific beings), so I don't see why things can't refer to a group of beings. Then again, Vigil (and Dark Vigils?) may be two things - much like Durmand Priory (a group and an event/object). We know too little to be sure, but there is a possibility. -- Konig/talk 19:17, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Hmm[edit]

Should we make a section for known members and their ranks? CelleyBear 15:20, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

There's only five known members. With three ranks (general, crusader, tactician). ATM, it is unnecessary. -- Konig/talk 16:19, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
There are already pages, added last week, for the two unique ranks (crusader and tactician) that list the known members with those ranks. -- BrettM 19:53, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Army of Light[edit]

Hear me out on this, in the book, Darth Bane Path of Destruction (pre-movie old republic star wars book), the Jedi create an "Army of Light" against the onslaught of darkness created by the Brotherhood of Darkness (sith faction). Possible reference? IrishNation 20:00, 1 October 2011 (UTC) (sorry forgot to sign as always xD)

You do realize how commonplace a "army of good being created to fight off an increasing evil threat" is right? It's an archtype. Konig/talk 23:08, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Dougal[edit]

I included Dougal (from Ghost of Ascalon) on the known members list as you can find him in Lion's Arc and he tells you he's working for the Vigil training new recruits (and that he has a special permission from Almorra to not needing to wear the official uniform). Lokheit 02:13, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Headquarters[edit]

So, in my journey to explore as much of the world as possible while the beta was going this last weekend, I was bumming around in Gendarran Fields. Up far, far north in that area is what appears to be the headquarters for the Vigil. It was HUGE! I'd make a note or something, but I'm not very good at wikiing and I'd probably break the space-time barrier or something. 76.27.73.198 05:14, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Vigil Keep. There is already a note mentioning it in the history section. Konig/talk 03:01, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Rank update[edit]

Soo... 'General: Leader of the Vigil. Currently Almorra Soulkeeper'. That might need updating given recent events. I don't know how to add a spoiler tag though or what the policy is on that. Ninja sloth (talk) 16:34, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
