Talk:Universal Multitool Pack
Why is referring to the engineer bio a valid replacement for an item?[edit]
- → moved from Talk:Universal multitool pack
I'll let you know that the universal multitool pack is an accessory armor part that fills in the back slot, it has one upgrade slot. Now that being said, how does referring to the engineer bio tell that to people browsing the wiki for the item Universal multitool pack?--SierraThat's me 12:03, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

What goes in the upgrade slot?[edit]
I tried Gemstone Pebbles (which makes the most sense to me) as well as Minor Sigils ... and neither work. Any other ideas? -- ZeeWabbit 01:01, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
- Nothing I've tried has fit. I have no clue. 108.13.221.103 11:12, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've tried every single 'level 0' upgrade I could find. None worked. MithTalk 20:22, 27 October 2012 (PDT)
- Forum says that the only way to upgrade it is by transmuting with another back item, but that would mean you're just taking this item's skin. Either way, this is looking like a bug to me. 76.253.0.17 20:19, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

"Cannot be transmuted with other backpack item"[edit]
I did with the Mad Memories with my two engineers. MithTalk 01:29, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- yea I dono who posted that but I don't think its true either.- Zesbeer 01:38, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- I've just done with spineguards. Unless someone tried with the Guild backpacks and it's affecting just those, I think we can remove the note. MithTalk 13:56, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- I tried transmuting the Strong Back Brace from the personal story with it using Basic Transmution stones right now which didn't work, however Fine Transmutation Stones worked normally on it. 91.53.176.65 22:55, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Free backpack skin for any character[edit]
If you create a new Engineer with this item, this item's skin will automatically be unlocked in the wardrobe for all your characters (i.e. you don't even need to right click the backpack to unlock the skin). So, for example, if you are a new player without any backpack skins at all, and want a backpack to display on your character, even those under level 35, this method can be used because this backpack comes with a skin that can be unlocked. The character can buy Backpack Straps from any Armorsmith (vendor) and then tranmute the straps using this item's skin. Parc (talk) 15:15, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Why would this be chosen over the other 2 Engineer starter items?[edit]
The 2 headpieces provide 6 defense/armor each, while this backpiece apparently doesn't have any functional benefits.
So, apart from acquiring the skin, is there any practical use for choosing this instead of the other 2?
And if the only benefit is the skin, wouldn't it make more sense to just create a new engineer, add the skin to wardrobe, then delete the engineer and re-create it with either of the headpieces? --138.75.212.57 19:43, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
- you are correct, the only reason why you pick this option is for the skin and now that we have the wardrobe system the player would be better off picking one of the other two options.- Zesbeer 20:16, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
