Verification[edit]

For the line of dialogue 'Herald of Balthazar: That was unwise.', I also got 'Wrong choice.' as a male Asura. It could be random or based on race of the character.

Reviving Villagers (random dialogue): added 1 new response from rescued villagers. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gmriggs (talkcontribs).

May be random, changed, or could be for multiple races or even based on gender. I was on human male getting "Wrong choice." Will run more characters through to see if I get "That was unwise." later. Konig (talk) 06:26, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
As a female Asura the line was "That was unwise." SeaGlass (talk) 03:13, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Rewards for subsequent playthroughs[edit]

Taking a second character through the story doesn't give a Stash of Kournan Coins or any other exp. You still receive a mail with the letter and the Elonian Glove Box The preceding unsigned comment was added by Presac (talkcontribs) 30 September 2017.

I didn't even got the Stash of Kournan Coins when I did it the first time. At least the first time for the live release. However, I did this mission during the preview events. Maybe my account was marked for having done it already from these events. Balwin (talk) 15:51, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
Strike my previous comment. Of course I got it from the achievement. I just didn't realised it was an achievement reward and listing it as part of the reward was confusing me. But now it is better documented on the page. Balwin (talk) 16:07, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Broken quest[edit]

If you unequip the fire extinguisher, know that you will be screwed and have no way to get another one.

Big oversight as usual by Arenanet

You can use the buckets to extinguish the flames. —Ventriloquist 16:37, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

Possible Bug[edit]

Playing this mission with friends can lead to a bug where it will not progress after step "Defeat Balthazar's forces" the second time. This seems to have been triggered by having one or two other players kill all the forces while the one who's quest is being undertaken does not attack. This leads to a situation where you can fight the herald down to 1% HP but she will not die.Kenji_03 17:03, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

It's not a possible bug, it's a real bug which can happen with a solo player. My elementalist tried to keep as far as possible and deal most damage with staff and water or air elementals. After defeating all foes around Herald she remains shielded and non-interactive. Then crippled Aksim came to Tasa, but he was not active for conversation. Herald was about 80% health, non-active; she could be damaged, but very slowly. By my calculations, her health is about 1.5 mil and shield damage reduction is about 90%. When the health dropped to ~50%, she became aggressive. After more than an hour of battle I managed to damage Herald to 1% health. After that, flying values still showed some damage but health stopped to decrease. It was not possible either to kill Herald or activate the spawn of Warhounds. Note that while shielded, Herald didn't have the Determined indicator. I should conclude that developers were cheating with her health mechanics. While they can fix the bug with non-spawned Warhounds, moving to honest NPC mechanics could be more hard. --109.252.134.147 16:28, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Mail for finishing the heart[edit]

This page features a mail for completing the heart in the reward section. I did not got that one. I only got the one after leaving the instance, the one listed at the bottom of the page. Finishing the heart will also not count for map completion and that's why I think that mail will not me sent (anymore?) and may be a remnant from the preview events? I did not deleted the mail from the page, because I did this mission during the preview events and maybe this had an influence on receiving that mail or not. Balwin (talk) 15:58, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
