Talk:Signet of the Locust
Currently the tooltip skill description says "Signet Passive: You run 25% faster.", while the tooltip for the buff while it is on you says "Movement Speed increased by 10%.".
Is anyone else experiencing this? I am almost positive the effect I am receiving is 25%.
- Please sign your posts, and yes it is a known bug, they recently (as of Dec 14, 2012) updated signet of the locust as well as many other classes speed based signets to a standard of 25% however, the tooltip does not correctly reflect this. The developers stated this is a known issue and will be fixed the next big patch along with many other tooltip discrepancies. 71.68.238.112 01:31, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Is the an AoE? Also, is the heal multiplied by how many enemies were hit?--121.1.11.242 12:56, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, and it is affected by the trait Bloodthirst. If you are in a crowd of enemies, it will suck health from up to 5 of them, and with Cleric's gear you can expect roughly 8000 healing from it (amazing, underrated healing skill for a Necromancer). 134.29.85.213 20:48, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
- Has this been documented anywhere? Life leech usually isn't affected by healing power, and I haven't seen anything in patch notes indicating otherwise. If this is from personal testing, you should post to the official forums w/ screenshots (and cite the post here) so people can validate your methodology. I'm certain people there will be interested to know of the change.--199.82.243.103 18:17, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- its called testing it yourself and updating the wiki yourself. if its something dramatic or number crunch-y, yes add results to talk page, such as the complicated healing from the heal on mesmer shatter trait. but this? just literally add 100 healing power and compare to using nothing, not that hard or unusual. also "life steal" isn't literally stealing life anyways... its just a gain health while damaging or fulfilling this condition. if it was literal life steal, ALL damage numbers and healing would be exactly the same, which its not. 67.233.98.18 22:57, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- I've actually noticed some weird behavior with Signet of the Locust's heal when Bloodthirst is active. I'll try and do some testing with / without it, then post the numbers here to demonstrate. It definitely boosts the heal, but it seems like it might boost it too much? --Softspoken (talk) 21:17, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Interaction with Bloodthirst[edit]
So I wrote a comment above about how it might interact with Bloodthirst, implying it scaled too well. Long story short, lolnope. Here's some relevant tests I did. (PvP Heart of the Mists on sparring NPCs)
- Power / Healing Power / Tooltip's predicted heal / Heal observed
- 1016 / 200 / 818 / 711
- 1016 / 744 / 927 / 711
- 1016 / 844 / 947 / 711
- 1965 / 1116 / 1001 / 1376
- 2040 / 1116 / 1001 / 1428
- 2145 / 1116 / 1001 / 1502
For the record, Bloodthirst doesn't change the tooltip prediction on SotL, and the prediction for SotL is as far as I have observed 100% accurate when Bloodthirst is _not_ enabled/taken. So the third column can also be seen as the heal given without bloodthirst. Now I may be looking at the numbers incorrectly, but it seems to me that taking Bloodthirst makes the heal on SotL scale exclusively with Power. Some other data points I took, in case anyone is interested:
- 1121 / 744 / 927 / 785
- 1321 / 805 / 939 / 925
- 1765 / 1023 / 983 / 1236
- 1815 / 1109 / 1000 / 1271

Feedback 2018/06/20[edit]
Signet of the Locust also provides +180 Healing Power at level 80 when traited with Signets of Suffering.
Speed boost?[edit]
If this is paired with Signets of Suffering, don't the speed boosts not stack? I can't see any movement speed improvement when both are turned on vs. without the trait. Daddicus (talk) 03:21, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- No movement speed buffs stack. See Movement Speed#Base speed. -Chieftain Alex 06:10, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- So, why do we have a note that says it makes good synergy with SoS? SoS has no effect on it, making it particularly useless. I know of no other trait that does absolutely nothing when paired with the an object it refers to.
- Is this a bug? (I reported it in-game as such a while back, but as usual, there's no response.) Daddicus (talk) 23:04, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
- Because the passive effect isn't the only thing the signet offers; it also has an active use, which the trait refers to as 'good synergy'. —Ventriloquist 07:54, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- OK, that makes sense. And, I like your wording of my comment better. Daddicus (talk) 21:49, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
