Open option[edit]

moved from User talk:Balwin

Ref. your edit of Office Door: I think the open option is only available during the Personal Storyline for Priory members (or always available for Priory members?). At least, I don't think I had/have that option. Could you also possibly add the instance it leads to if you open it? Titus The Third User titus the third.png 13:34, 26 October 2014 (UTC)

This door leads (like the desription of the page points out) to the office of Gixx (where you also found Ogden). This is not another instance but just another part of The Durmand Priory. Access is probably ony possible for Durmand Priory members. But this could be worth a discussion on a more appropriate and more public place than my personal talk page, because my norn priory member could open that door right after he joined the order but my sylvari priory member could not open that door until she had finished one explorable path of Arah recently. I thought it was some kind of strange bug, but maybe there is more to that. Balwin (talk) 13:50, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
Some more information about the interaction with that door and access to Gixx's office: Now my norn durmand priory member can't interact with the door anymore after finishing the first order specific arc of the personal story. So my new theory is that all priory member (independent of race) can access Gixx's office only at very specific points during the personal story and I have tried this with my first priory character always at the wrong time until I finished her story line. More (probaly useless) facts: After I have finished my "racial sympathy" path, I'm able to open this door again and have again access to Gixx's office. This supports my latest theory, that the character needs to be on specific points in the personal story to be able to open that door and during other stages this door just can't be opened. Additional point of data: I'm doing the HoT story, and can't open the door or find Ogden anywhere any more. I guess I'll have to go back to one of the LS2 instances to be able to talk to him again. (I need him for the Dreamer I collection.) -- Kazerniel (talk) 23:39, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
This was giving me troubles too but I think I figured it out. While trying to figure out why it was missing the first time I entered, I happened to open the far lecture hall door with the office door's text in my line of sight and saw the text (and with it the ability to interact with the door) disappear the instant the hall door opened. I had opened the lecture hall door the first time while searching for Ogden. I've tested this multiple times and on multiple characters. They can all interact with the office when they first enter but if the lecture hall door is opened first (only my priory chars could open the hall door) the office door essentially turns into a wall. The office door has to be opened first or it will "lock". Catz.20.20 (talk) 00:46, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
I have just tested it again. I entered the Durmand Priory instance (not the story) with a character where the story step 'The Priory Assailed' was active and I could not interact with the door (I was heading straight to the door and didn't do anything else). After finishing the story step I could enter the Durmand Priory instance and was able to interact with the door. So at least for Priory members it depends (also) on the story step. I can confirm the lecture hall door must remain closed - I had opened it and the office door was inaccessible-no interaction available and no text shown. Upon re-entering the instance and leaving the lecture hall door closed, the office door was selectable. Twyst Tye (talk) 15:11, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
