Unsure to be an unofficial name, but the source would be this interview, specifically: "When the Elder Dragon Jormag arose in the northern Shiverpeaks, the norn were led south to establish Hoelbrak by four of their most powerful Spirits of the Wild – Bear, Raven, Snow Leopard, and Wolf. The other spirits did not take an active hand in the norn exodus." This may not have an official name, but it is an exodus of the norn from the Far Shiverpeaks. I was going to make the article myself, but wasn't sure if it should be Norn Exodus, norn exodus, or "Norn Exodus." -- Konig/talk 21:57, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Needed?[edit]

I don't think this is really an event like the Exodus of the Gods, just an... occurrence or "something that happened cos of this and whatnot". It would be better covered on the norn page or even on Jormag, but I don't think it needs its own article. -- pling User Pling sig.png 21:55, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

It is a major event, but the question is the name, really - as I've brought up above. If this event didn't occur, the norn would be even more distant from the other races, and wouldn't have its own troubles. It's a lore page through and through - much like the gw1:Ascalonian Migration article on the GW1W. -- Konig/talk 21:57, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
To make sure it is clear: I oppose deletion, as it is an actual event - and an important one (for norn history) at that. -- Konig/talk 22:00, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Hmm. In which case, I'd prefer it to be "norn exodus" (like a description or something). I'll leave the deletion tag on for a few days to see if anyone else wants to chip in, but the tag can be removed after that if the page is kept. (As a side note, I think I'll move the Ascalonian Migration page to Ascalonian migration.) -- pling User Pling sig.png 22:05, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
I say keep. it's a migration of an entire race. I think that's a very big event (cfr. the migration period or völkerwanderung). I Think it should be "Norn Exodus" similar to the Exodus out of Egypt by the Israëlites. Rhonin Soren 13:14, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
I don't really see why it's necessary. It's not major enough to have a "proper" name, at least not that we know of yet. --Santax (talk · contribs) 18:57, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
I support keeping the page, but moving it to "Norn exodus."-- Shew 19:15, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Shew, do you mean using Norn exodus or "Norn exodus"? If the former, that is what it is; if the later, why? -- Konig/talk 19:42, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I change my mind. I'm for leaving it as it is (the former) because it isn't assuming anything. In the case of "Deep Sea Dragon," the dragon may not/most likely will not be referred to that description in the game, so if the article was called "Deep Sea Dragon" (w/o quotes), people may assume that it has been officially recognized as the Deep Sea Dragon in the game. This event, however, has been called the "norn exodus" by an ANet employee (and the name "norn exodus" is not a fan name like "Deep Sea Dragon"), so even if the name may not be official, it has been referred to as this.-- Shew 19:50, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
