Achievements[edit]

So is this three separate achievements or just one shared achivement? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.149.8.223 (talk).

The achievements associated with this challenge are Emerald Sanctum, Sapphire Sanctum, and Garnet Sanctum depending on which borderlands you are in, respectively the green, blue or red borderlands. --zeeZUser ZeeZ Sig.png (talk) 10:34, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Lol the perils of reading wikis on my phone, missed that note at the bottom :D Cheers.81.149.8.223

Cat Secret[edit]

Maybe there should be mention under notes of the easter egg that can be found in this jumping puzzle? The little secret room with about 15 cats (can see how to get there here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID08AqRhDRA )

Cool down?[edit]

Is there a cool down on this chest? If you succeed, can you go back to the beginning and do it over right away or do you have to wait a day?DeirdreGreymoon 23:13, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

As with all JP's, you have to wait a day. Qiff 00:39, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
That's true for all chests in an explorable zone.--Relyk ~ talk > 02:11, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
The WvW jumping puzzle chests are on a "24 hour from last opened" cooldown. I was under the impression JP chests in PvE reset at midnight with dailies. Dagger 07:15, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
Is the 24hr limit once per character or once per account? -- The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.11.73.6 (talkcontribs) at 11:48, 12 May 2013‎ (UTC).
I'm pretty sure it's properly per account now. The BL chests were bugged for a couple of weeks after they claimed to have made the change, and it would let you open the chest but wouldn't take your keys if you tried on a second character. That seems to be fixed. -- Dagger (talk) 22:38, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
The chest resets at the normal daily reset time too, not "24 hours from last opened". Tested this by opening the chest 2 hours before and then again 8 hours after the daily reset time.--178.7.101.101 22:10, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Some JPs do not reset automatically at server reset. It's not 24 hrs for sharkmaw, but neither does it happen automatically at midnight UTC. I believe it's far less than 24 hours, so the test above doesn't confirm if Mistwrought is available immediately after reset. I do know you have to leave the instance and finish the puzzle again. 75.36.181.135 22:22, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Have to correct myself somewhat... the daily chest resets at the normal time (roughly at least, see two comments above) - but the small chests with the KEYS seem to be on a charakter-bound 24h timer. Quite annoying.--94.217.48.155 12:08, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Using One Borderland's Keys in Another's Chest[edit]

In the first note, does However, you can not collect the key parts multiple times on one borderlands ... actually mean However, you can not collect the key parts multiple times per day on one borderlands ... ? Kirbett (talk) 16:56, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Yes, although I can't remember precisely what the reset conditions are (At midnight? After 24 hours?) -- Dagger (talk) 23:55, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
Well, the inference that you cannot farm your own borderlands' puzzle to have an easier time on the other two is wrong, since that is exactly what I did, albeit on different days, since I didn't fancy having enemy interference while working through the jumps to get the keys. I'll rework the note and use "per day", hopefully leaving it ambiguous as to what that actually means. Kirbett (talk) 09:47, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Key parts[edit]

Can more detail be provided about where one can obtain these key parts? | phineas | (talk) 20:25, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Check the walkthrough section. poke | talk 22:34, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Swiftness[edit]

Concerning this point :

> Swiftness is not required but allows a larger margin of error on many of the longer jumps.

I thought it's no longer the case. Can anyone confirm?

That is true. I've removed it, thanks for the notice. —Ventriloquist 18:40, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
Hm, really? They stopped it from affecting movement skills, but I'm pretty sure swiftness still affects jump distance, especially when holding a direction key middair. -- Dagger (talk) 20:44, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
I've reverted V's last edit. Jumping longer distances (e.g. from the very edge of the start ledge to the front edge of the next ledge) is sometimes easier with swiftness. Shorter jumps are naturally harder :p (e.g. plank A to plank B...) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 00:05, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
Right right, I thought it was referring to skills w/swiftness. Welp. —Ventriloquist 10:37, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

JPs still available since HoT? (Feedback 2015/11/23)[edit]

Please make clear if these jumping puzzles still exist since HoT, as they maps all changed and the JPs don't seem to be accessible anymore --87.78.42.134 23:44, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

well they only are accessible via alpine borderlands, so you'll have to wait their return. Right now, Arena Net didn't state how the rotation between desert and alpine bordeelands will happen. 90.12.216.58 06:47, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. It is a bit confusing right now since the JP achievements are still available, but cannot be done right now. I hope Arena Net leaves a statement about this some day... - Ray Koopa (talk) 12:07, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Alpine Borderlands have returned, finally, and the jumping puzzle along with them! Could someone get rid of the "removed" tag please? Eggbutt (talk) 21:12, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
Done. Of course there's a pile of other pages that need updating too... -- Dagger (talk) 21:47, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

Garnet Sanctum[edit]

Wasn't the Garnet version of this retired when red borderlands became permanently desert? Khavanya (talk) 03:40, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Feedback 2017/08/10[edit]

[[Category:]]

It's caused by {{Location infobox}} :

   | jumping puzzle = <!-- these are located within areas, within zones (grandparent) -->[[Category:{{#var:parent-of-within}}]]

The Mistwrought Vault is within the Alpine Borderlands. The Alpine Borderlands is not "located in" anywhere because it is an info page not a zone page. The proper zone pages are "Green Alpine Borderlands" and the other two colours. As a result we end up with a blank value in #var:parent-of-within. We can either allow a location to be within multiple zones or a check for when parent-of-within is blank and add the categories manualy. J.Tesla (talk) 10:53, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
