The skirmish supervisor sold me this at rank 1700. i upgraded it to legendary today. took me a little time to get the gift of battle. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Keithmcm (talk).

Still says 1800 in-game at the supervisor. I can't verify this since I'm over rank 2000. --Life Infusion «T» 22:16, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Legendary unlock text[edit]

So where does this rather short text "They never come back whole. Maybe they're only half-remembered." comes from?

So far I have found only one conformation for legendary t2 heavy wvw armor, see r/Guildwars2/Legendary WvW Armor Text.

What about the datamined text: "This exquisite scholarly garb shimmers with Mist energy. When you wear it through ruins and unguarded keeps, sometimes you're haunted by nostalgia." Several sources assumes that this is the light wvw armor, comparing to the known t2 heavy wvw armor text it's quite fitting, for example:

Sure, all of them are kinda biased as they only took that_shaman's mined text parts into account. Does the t3 wvw armor pieces have a different text than the t2 wvw armor pieces? --Tolkyria (talk) 10:02, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

I found a screenshot of the t2 light wvw armor, so the question remaining is: Does the t3 wvw armor pieces have a different text than the t2 wvw armor pieces?
I had just crafted all 6 pieces of the Legendary Mistforged Light armor. I did take a screenshot of the footgear and did cross reference with another player on the text and that was the text on all 6 pieces of the Mistforged variant. Cmpgamer (talk) 12:47, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Sounds a lot like ANet put the "...shimmers with Mist energy.." one on the wrong legendary armor set (the non-mistforged version). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 12:54, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Let's just say that I was VERY disappointed when I crafted all the Legendary Mistforged Light Armor and I got that noticeably short quote. But I at least put the quote on the Wiki. Cmpgamer (talk) 13:21, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
fwiw your screenshot seems to be the only confirmed text for Mistforged Triumphant armor (this text is missing from shaman's post). The rest of the sources seem to be best effort guesses trying to stick dat file strings together with items. In lieu of better information, i would suggest its pretty likely this text appears on the other weights of Mistforged WvW armor.
also makes me wonder about the pvp equivalent armor sets.. all the same? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 15:03, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Cmpgamer, much appreciated, thanks!
Indeed, I guess I'll remove it from the heavy/medium t3 wvw armors. --Tolkyria (talk) 15:24, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
The verified armor unlock texts appears several times in the string dat, so I guess each item has it's own text. Thus I looked for duplicate strings and found the following, containing two relatively short text pieces that would match the light t3 armor, see overview below. --Tolkyria (talk) 15:55, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
I actually am going to start crafting the WvW Mistforged Heavy armor so I can get that string the second I craft one of the pieces. Cmpgamer (talk) 16:20, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
I added this screenshot under the discussion page for Sublime Mistforged Triumphant Hero's Breastplate. It seems that the WvW Mistforged Heavy armor's quote is "This—right now—is the rest of your life. Live it well." Cmpgamer (talk) 16:39, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Okay, very nice. I'll add (Edit: Already done) it to the other armor pieces of the same weight/tier, I hope this time it's not too bold to assume this consistency. --Tolkyria (talk) 17:48, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
And PvP Heavy T3 armor, they have in fact a different text. --Tolkyria (talk) 17:57, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Added the flavor text for the Pvp heavy set (Ardent glorious) as I got a confirmation screenshot --Gouti 19:54, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Awesome! Added still missing armor sets below. Based on the amount of strings in the dat, I assume that the glorious hero's armor shares the text with the T3 ones... but that's only a vague assumption so far. --Tolkyria (talk) 20:28, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Myriada just posted on gw2w discord this image for "WvW Medium T2 armor" — "Are we dancing or dueling? It's your turn to pick.". Odd as this is the same text as we've verified for the wvw medium T3 too (for which I've added an image, and received verbal confirmation from a guildy that the text on all six pieces was the same as his screenshot i've provided). Added image verification links into the table below. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:35, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Oops, almost forgot about this. Indeed strange, but whatever I'll change/add the WvW medium armor then. --Tolkyria (talk) 23:07, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Checked the dat strings again, at least ""They never come back whole. Maybe they're only half-remembered."" was changed to ""They never come back whole. Maybe they're only half-remembered..."". I found all of the WvW quotes exactly 6 times (also the last one we cannot assign), not sure if my assumption one string entry per armor piece is correct - as the WvW Medium T2 and T3 contradicts it or if the actually incorrectly matched them. --Tolkyria (talk) 00:03, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
We've had a confirmation that the T3 text is now different to our original verification screenshot below. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 06:34, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
I talked to one who crafted WvW heavy T2 leg armor, and the unlock text didn't match our documented one, namely it was the short quote "This—right now—is the rest of your life. Live it well.", i.e. what we currently document for the T3 heavy armor. This would fit to the WvW medium T2 <--> T3 text swap documented in September. See also this edit/this file. Should we swap them or do we need a confirmation for the T3 heavy armor in order to swap them?
Furthermore, what should we do with the light WvW armor, swap it too? --Tolkyria (talk) 08:59, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
I think the sublime chest piece (possibly all weights) has different text on T3 to the rest of the set (possibly sublime chest uses T2 text). I crafted a few pieces at the end of August and early October, i've added screenshots below. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 16:34, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
Swapped all WvW armor texts between tiers, the short quote is now T2, the longer text is T3. Light is still not verified, but I'm being bold right now. --Tolkyria (talk) 17:13, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
