We can make a nav to navigate between the akrma items. They are already listed on the karma page, which is more relevant. This page will be a disambig page like Wintersday Gift--Relyk ~ talk > 13:08, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Single page for all Liquid Karma items

I'm the guy who made the change that you have undone. I'll explain why I have made this (and why it shouldn't have been undone, too ^^)

a) most of the information on all 4 pages is the same. 1 page lets gather this information to 1 point instead of repeating it.

b) GW2 has really many items, lots of which are different versions of the same thing. Making common pages allows for a more comprehensive wiki. NOTE : I have not decided this, this is what I have thought after seing that some other items already have common pages. For exemple : Potion of Demon Slaying . There is not so much difference between potions and liquid karma, to justify that one has a common page, and one has a page per item. So, comprehensive wiki + consistency are one more reason why I did this

c) When you look for liquid karma information, you may want to have all the karma amounts and the acquisition methods on one page (= the table that was on this page before you changed it). Having to look at 3-4 pages isn't very handy. I think that a single page is more user friendly, which is another reason why I created this single page and redirected the other ones here.

If the majority still thinks that I was wrong in creating this single page, please at least copy my work to the 4 pages that you have re-enabled :

a) More comprehensive description of the karma boosts, with the max amount for all 4 items. The max amount was not on all 4 pages and had to be found in the middle of a long sentence. Also, I added the list of all 4 karma boosts (it can probably be found somewhere else, but is more handy to find on liquid karma pages), and LINKS to them. Please copy that list and the links to the 4 pages, because they are not set.

b) The Liquid Karma page should not be a disambiguation page. Disambiguation pages are for terms with several meanings, which is not the case here. We should have a category instead.Eowin 18:06, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Apparently you've not heard that using more than one infobox per page breaks SMW queries and so is ill advised? (this is important when we want to auto magic everything into searches)

The karma boosts description is just redundant with the already present max boost note when combined with the base gain which is at the top of the article. Chieftain Alex 18:28, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

OK. I don't know how this "auto magic everything into searches" works. What about Potion pages (they work fine) ? If I have done something wrong in my wiki code (I'm not good at it), it may be corrected instead of completely revert what I have done ? About karma boost description : I did not add something redundant. A little explanation about boost was already on each of the 4 pages, I only made it more precise and easy to read.

But even if it is redundant, it may not always be bad. Wiki users don't want to have to search through 10 pages when they want to know something. Example : I have several kinds of liquid karma in my bank, I want to know the best way of using them. I come to the Liquid Karma page as I had made it : I know all the boosts, have a link to them in case I need, I know how much Karma I'll get. Otherwise i'll have to open all 4 LK pages and also go to Karma page to learn about boosts, then calculate the total amount ... . 2nd use case : I already know about boosts, so I want to know all the ways of getting liquid karma in order to max the benefit of a Karma Booster. If there is a page like the one I made today, I come to LK page and discover all kinds of LK in the game and how to get them. With current pages, I have to find one of them, click on the "see also" links, and compare all 4 "acquisition" lists ...

The potion pages are incorrect in any regard because "Potion of <x>" is an actual item in the game (i.e. Potion of Destroyer Slaying). There was no discussion or consensus on the matter, which carries over to your edits being done without going to the relevant talk pages. I don't know if you missed reading the very first line but " They are already listed on the karma page, which is more relevant". Relyk's right, the Karma article is a much better place for that information. The potion pages (as well as runes/sigils) are aberrations that we are developing plans to deal with - distinct items should be on distinct articles. —Dr Ishmael 20:13, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
