Pirating City
I checked the Movement of the World in the Kryta and Lion's Arch sections and found no such thing of it being a "Pirating City" or being rebuilt by "mercenaries and corsairs," so may I ask for the source of this? -- Konig Des Todes 23:14, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- When the waters that inundated Lion’s Arch after Orr rose from the sea began to recede, the ruins of that once majestic city became a pirate stronghold. Those seagoing vessels driven off the Orrian island chain by the rise of the undead found safe haven in the ruins of Lion’s Arch and created there a neutral town open to all races, ruled in a mercenary fashion. --Santax (talk · contribs) 12:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Neutral Town?
I think Lion's Arch isn't a human town anymore, maybe neutral would be better term. What do you think? Vihosa 16:24, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
- It's the human starting point, afaik. --Santax (talk · contribs) 17:52, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
No picture?!
All other important cities have their city picture! Byt Lion's Arch hasn't? I'm rather sure, that we are witnessing it in the first official trailer from 2:36 towards 2:42, wouldn't it be nice to have one for Lion's Arch as well? Lion's Arch might very well become our GW2 Spamadan. Ge4ce 07:57, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- As you say, there have been several glimpses of what is probably Lion's Arch, but none have been confirmed as such yet. Arshay Duskbrow 08:51, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Movement of the World
IRC, in the movement of the world, or some old bit of lore, I thought that it was said Balthazar himself raised Lions Arch back from the ocean or something so people could keep fighting in the mists... I understand why they would change it (it doesn't really make sense with everything else...) but I was hoping someone else remembered this -173.116.103.143 05:48, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- No. He made a portal. Nothing ever said LA was raised out of the ocean. The water not trapped by land would most likely receed anyways. Though the shore would be higher up. -- Konig/talk 07:56, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Level 30
In an interview here, Its revealed that LA will be accessible at about level 30, Should this, and other info found here, be added to this page?--Neithan Diniem 01:03, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- I say go for it.... And uh.... Could you make your sig a little darker? I can't even begin to read it. Sorry for the inconvenience. Eive 01:24, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Concept Art
I'm not so sure if that concept art is of Lion's Arch... I mean, it has boats, but that's it. I see cannon balls flying all over the place and smoke from cannons and/or explosions. It looks a lot more like a ship fight than a city made of boats. AFAIK, LA's people live peaceful lives; plus, the ships the city is made of are most likely not working (ie, just wood shells) since they were rescued from the sea if IRC and thus probably can't fire anything anymore. I don't know in what way can that concept art portray Lion's Arch. It is far more likely to be of a corsair battle or something. --217.129.133.230 22:27, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Guild Home
Is there any need for that recursion? For that matter, what does Guild Home mean in relation to LA? --ஸ ķ̌ɎǾshĺ 00:05, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Lion's Arch Video
The new video on ArenaNet's blog is amazing. I am astounded at the beauty of the city! --Musha 19:40, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed, but why is there (as far as I could tell) only one charr and one norn, and no sylvari or asura at all? Isn't it a 'mixed' city? - Michiel412 21:14, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- No asura or sylvari weeks have occurred yet. - Infinite - talk 21:45, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- But there are asura in the video, one on the balcony the camera is panning around at the 46-49 second range, and a couple more in the bottom right corner around 1 minute 33 seconds. -Yossitaru 21:54, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- Also Sylvari probably look alot like humans. --BriarThe Spider 00:58, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Also also, it was noted in the subsequent "making of LA" post that A) these crowds were test crowds (remember that the sylvari are still being revised) and B) they're all duplicates of various other character models (such as Zojja, Eir and Rytlock, also the skill video characters). Zolann The Irreverent 01:22, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I saw the human female ele and the human female thief a few times. --Musha 04:55, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- There were also some of the characters they used to show off different sets of armor walking around. - Giant Nuker 11:13, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
