Talk:Heritage
Based on this; specifically: "Some of these questions are defined by earlier choices - a character's race, class, or heritage." I don't think that the term "heritage" is human-only and as such this page will need a move (though personally, since it is just a list, I don't see why we even need it as the list can be covered in character creation). -- Konig/talk 00:34, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Removed?[edit]
Considering it's been said that each race will have five questions at character creation, and the human questions have been revealed, would it be safe to assume that this option has been removed from the game? I mean, I would like for us to still be able to choose our heritage but it's kind of looking like they took out this feature. Also, since "the Ascalonians, Canthans, Elonians, and Krytans each have their own districts in the city, and the other two districts belong to stores and festival activities", would it be safe to assume, since Rurikton is Ascalonian, Ossan Quarter is Elonian, someone mentioned the Great Collapse would be Canthan, and the other two southern ones are more for the festival and stuff, would this make the Salma district Krytan? Thereby making all human characters Krytan and removing the Heritage option? 136.159.70.7 20:59, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- Not necessarily, it has been said that only 5 question will be asked during character creation and the others integrated into the game. So probably you can choose your heritage during your storyline. 82.131.233.28 21:13, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- Precisely what the ip said. It has been said there are several more questions that will be answered, but ANet felt they didn't want to have all of them presented right at the beginning. Choices you make will "answer" the rest of the questions. How they will do this, I don't know, but doing it this way is rather smart, since you could have different answers at different times for different races. To explain further, you could answer the "heritage" question for humans later on in the game, whereas for an Asura its equivalent could be answered right away, or vice versa. :)

- Though wouldn't the heritage question have to be answered early on for the Humans? I mean, having an Elonian or Canthan heritage would make you look quite distinct from a Krytan or Ascalonian. 136.159.128.211 02:21, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- It's entirely possible that it wasn't shown in the demo because it is actually a part of physical customization, which was not shown. CelleyBear 02:33, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with you Celley, it would need to be put in character creation. Mainly due to the distinction between heritage. An Ascalonioan = a more western european appearance, a Krytan = a more meditteranean appearance, an Elonian = a more African appearance, and a Canthan = a more far eastern appearance. Just take the physical identity of the original Guild Wars characters, there is an easy way to tell the difference between a Faction's character and a Nightfall character. - I do not think this should be removed, and if it should, not yet. Too early to tell. - Aios 16:55, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
