Reality Rift bug verification[edit]

See [1] - you can also tell where some of the foliage is meant to have ground underneath it too. I tried gliding to it with no luck. You either have to start the story all over or die over and over until your death penalty hits red, otherwise Canach will keep ressing you. It seemed to reset itself I died and used the retry mote 71.179.204.101 07:32, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Effects[edit]

Apparently saving each ally produces an effect to each party member. Unfortunately my glider didn't deploy so I had time to screenshot some of the icons and create some rough pages. The blighted NPCs that we encountered were Rytlock, Marjory, Caithe, Trahearne and Seiran but I didn't pay attention to which NPC caused which effect. I think Frontal/Empowered/Parietal were Rytlock/Marjory/Trahearne but not sure tbh. I imagine each NPC causes a different effect.

  1. Occipital Mastery.png Occipital Mastery — Immune to blind and cripple, 10% chance to apply blind on hit. (missed desc) - from Rytlock.
  2. Temporal Mastery.png Temporal Mastery — Immune to slow, 15% chance of quickness. (missed desc, think it was immune to slow, quickness 15% chance on hit) - from Marjory Delaqua.
  3. Parietal Mastery.png Parietal Mastery — Permanently stable, uses Blowout every 10 seconds. - from Caithe
  4. Frontal Mastery.png Frontal Mastery — Immune to confusion, always reflects projectiles. - from Trahearne

Pretty sure Parietal Mastery always comes from the foe/ally that's left behind, while frontal mastery is always from the mentor/trahearne, regardless of which NPC it is. They also buff Mordremoth while they're foes. Don't recall the empowered one. Konig 01:11, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Dialogs depending on companions[edit]

I don't think the different dialogs presented here as "If <xyz> was chosen first:" depend on who was picked first. I selected Braham and Caithe. I don't know which one I picked first, but in the earlier rift closing part (where we already have quotes from Braham and Canach) I got always quotes from Braham and never from Caithe. And in the later rift closing part (where we have dialogs from Caith and Canach) I got the ones for Caithe and none from Braham. I assume there only exists these two version (Braham/Canach and Caithe/Canach) for these parts, because you always have at least one of them with you and if you have both, the game has probably a priority and I doubt it will depend on who you picked first. Flying bug[edit]

BUG: When I flew up using an updraft during the Mordremoth fight, it very quickly lifted me up high enough to leave the instance, and so I had to start the mission from the beginning again. Vana Runedottir (talk) 09:17, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Confirmed. Just happened to me as well. 108.235.93.40 03:20, 29 September 2017 (UTC)

Just happened to me too. I was doing also Challenge Mode with others and got kicked near the end. W T F. This bug has been around for a long time already. Migraine + Flights achievements are dead to me, I will never bother with them ever again. What a waste of life. Dracx (talk) 19:55, 8 June 2019 (UTC)

Dream Warrior achievement text wrong?[edit]

Under the Dream Warrior achievement on this page, it says:

"Complete the fight before Phase 1 with each ally. You do not need to complete the instance to earn the achievement."

So, from that wording, I would assume that if you complete the instance, you've completed two of the three (because you had to win in order to advance, and you chose two of them). However, I have completed it, and Dream Warrior still shows no progress.

The text in the achievement panel itself is no more helpful:

"Complete all 3 possible ally fights."

So, how DO you complete this achievement? Daddicus (talk) 19:55, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Each ally. Doing the chapter once won't complete it - say you chose Braham and Canach and completed it, you've got two thirds done. You still need to do it with Caithe. Or whichever one you didn't bring with you the first time. TiffanySmith.8216 (talk) 21:54, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Ease of dream quests depends on Class[edit]

I lost connection part way through and had to restart. But I'd really struggled with Blighted Eir and Garm so I thought I'd give the Blighted Pale Tree a go, despite the warning.

From my perspective it was far, far easier. She stands nice and still and you can pound all your AOE effects on her, and if you're smart on her minions as they approach so they don't empower her too much. She'll take your direct attacks too. If you mess it up, Caithe will heal you when you're downed. With a different class you might be able to go toe-to-toe with Garm and just dodge out of Eir's arrow tracks and her tracking AOE arrows but that wasn't really an option for me. Dodging Garm, dodging Eir, putting Garm down and then hitting Eir hard enough to hurt her when she was rezzing Garm - it was doable but it took a long, long time solo.

Longer, for me, than putting Mordremoth down in fact. The electrified floor was a nuisance with the rocks but other than that, the boss fight was just a slog to hack through his health pool. I realise I'm doing it out of order, but killing Balthazar was far, far harder. Got to say I preferred this fight to that one tbh, Balthazar just felt stupid. Eloise (talk) 12:49, 24 January 2018 (UTC)

I second Eloise's observation - I'm a bleed/stealth thief, with tons of crit, condition damage, and power, but basically no armor and a tiny HP pool. Per the wiki's advice, I picked Braham and Canach the first time, and Blighted Eir/Garm kept enough pressure on me that it took too long to fight back. My second attempt, I picked the two sylvari, and both fights were much more manageable. Jubilee (talk) 20:00, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
The choice doesn't make much of a difference unless you're doing Challenge Mode - having read the guide I don't think it particularly suggests Braham/Canach for non-challenge mode. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:08, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
A key observation in that is that (certainly in the Blighted Pale Tree encouter, and I suspect in the others) Caithe will heal you if you're down. My experience was neither Canach nor Braham do. My first couple of solo attempts on this with a DPS necro reaper build, I took on Blighted Eir and Blighted Canach, and I was just way too glass cannon; Blighted Eir was easy, but Blighted Canach was just too much; my health pool dropped like a stone, and once I was downed, that was it. I had about four tries and packed it in for the evening (feeling uttely fed up and rather depressed). Next morning, I shifted to a DPS minion master build with less DPS and more sustain, tried Blighted Eir and the Blighted Pale Tree. Neither were short fights - and Eir was definitely harder - but I survived through them (with a couple of heals from Caithe). Got one-shotted later once by Mordremoth in the boss fight whilst gliding, but apart from that it was manageable. Doghouse13 (talk) 07:32, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

Blighted Trahearne dialogue verification[edit]

The dialogue put 'Trahearne? Now I know these are illusions!' is correct. At least for sylvari. I don't know what 'verification requested' means, but I'm not confident in my wiki editing skills. Could the person who put that 'verification requested' fix that, since it's right? I can hear my character saying this as I replay the memory in my mind. Bug: can't talk to Caithe[edit]

Me and 4 guild mates decided to to the Migräne achievement. We started with me starting the instance after already finishing it. When we got to the Traherne, Caithe already was in a position, to which she goes if you dismiss her, and none was able to talk to her. After using cm more and picking Braham and Canach to come with us, quest didn't progress, Caithe was standing at the same spot with a "talk to" marker above her head. This resulted in a softlock and we restarted. Attempt number two went exactly the same way, like 1:1. Attempt #3 was started by my friend, who also has already beaten story and chose the first option (green) to start the instance (same as I did). But when we reached Traherne - Caithe was fine and so we managed to beat the instance. But because 2 of our friend missed the flying fancy achievement, we decided to give it one more run in a normal mode. Same friend as in #3 started the instance same way - and we got same Caithe bug in his instance. So another friend had to restart the instance, picking same option (green) as both me and previous friend. It was fine this time and we finished the gliding achievement. Then 1 friend noticed, that he missed unblighted achievement, so same previous friend has restarted again - and when we reached Traherne - same bug again. So it's kinda easy to replicate, although not 100% of the time. Also solo seems to be fine. 93.171.246.219 21:36, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
