Reddit on reward cap[edit]

http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1g1n9y/guild_bounty_training/

People didn't appear to understand the wording on the reward cap. I rewrote so that it's clear that you can earn the 3k as many times as you like, in contrast to other guild missions that limit guild rewards each week. I took out the phrase about the cost because it's covered by the section above. 75.36.179.201 21:58, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

They didn't understand because of the weird system where someone writes something wrong, another corrects it, and a third one (or the first one) re-corrects it until it sounds like legalese. The sentence "3000 Influence (Uncapped — unlike other bounties, you can repeat training missions as often as you like for the full reward.)" is wrong. It gives the impression that you can do it without limit. Doing those on a regular basis is clearly very limited and capped by the rate at which you can make the "tokens", i.e. one takes 3 days to make. That's not "uncapped, you can repeat as often as you like". A guild that builds one at a time cannot repeat it as often as they like, only once every 3 days.
The best solution is to remove that unnecessary comment next to the influence earned, even though it was probably put there to contrast with the capping on guild bounties. Because not mentioning a similar cap means there is no similar cap. Guild bounty tokens can be built in 12 hours while Guild bounty training tokens need 3 days. That's a definite cap.
The word "uncapped" is wrong here. So is "you can do it as often as you like". And as if that wasn't enough, to add "for the full reward". Is there a way to get half a reward?
I don't even understand why someone would want to put that comment next to the reward, let alone make it as exaggerated as this. What is the purpose? Is someone trying to make this activity look at lot better than it really is? --Alad (talk) 07:41, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
Capped is not the same as "you can do it as often as you like," since you can do 5 T1 bounties in a row if you wanted. However, the rewards are capped, meaning your guild stops earning anything after the first T1 bounty. There is no similar weekly maximum for the training reward, which is why it's worth a note.
And yes, you can earn less than the full reward from other mission types. If you do a T1 bounty and then a T2 bounty, you'd only earn 5 more merits, since you'd hit the 20-merit cap. (added)
This has nothing to do with whether the activity is "good" or "bad". The whole point of it is to supposedly make it easier for smaller guilds to earn the massive amounts of influence required to unlock the other missions, so in ANet's view it's a valuable tool for organized 20-person guilds and probably worthless for 100-person guilds. 75.36.179.201 08:09, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
There is no cap as you understand it. Hence there is no need to mention neither its presence nor its absence. --Alad (talk) 09:07, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
On the other Guildmissins there is such a cap. Therefore it's absence here (in contrast to other guildmissions) is mentiond. -95.91.241.82 15:44, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Historical[edit]

Is this historical or was it moved to be somewhere else in the game and I just haven't seen it yet? - Doodleplex

Historical now I think - arguably, it's now replaced by the "Easy" guild bounty mission (single target) --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 09:28, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
