Mail received by players with paid accounts on release:

"As a part of our update to add gathering tool skins to the account wardrobe, gathering toolds can now also be equipped with glyphs. Glyphs are a new type of upgrade that give your gathering tools additional beneficial properties when gathering, and they can be freely moved between tools without using an extractor. Gathering tools that already have bonus properties can be traded for new versions that convert theri bonuses to glyphs at the Black Lion Exchange Specialist located in the Trader's Forum in Lion's Arch. For more details about these changes, visit guildwars2.com

To celebrate, we'd like to gift you a glyph of your choice. Be sure to claim your Black Lion Glyph Selection Container from the Gem Store, available until April 24. As always, thank you for your continued support!"

Removed "* Glyph of Bounty (Unused) - Trading Post sell-able version of the above." as this is not an in-game item. Verified via BL chest preview. --VisionOfTheWood (talk) 22:22, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Effective Level and corresponding material tiers obtained for the metal and wood glyphs?[edit]

So far, the wiki has information for only the leather and cloth glyphs.
I'm assuming the wood glyph would have a corresponding loot table (with respect to the leather and cloth glyphs).

But what about for the metal glyph?
Metals are strange because of iron, silver, gold, and platinum usually having different levels (whether it be item level, area level, or character level) associated with them compared to wood/cloth/leather, so it isn't obvious what exactly the glyph will proc depending on effective character level. --115.135.170.6 17:39, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

As far as I know only the Leatherworker glyph has actually been tested. Tailor glyph is guesswork based on the leather data. Forester I think is a safe assumption. I don't have a metal glyph so I can't test it.. metals are all kinda worthless apart from Iron and Platinum though. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:41, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Glyph of the Timekeeper is available on the Trading Post. the Note is no longer valid --Whowantblood (talk) 15:31, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

Re-sort the current table of glyphs[edit]

Since all the glyphs introduced to date are tradable and it doesn't seem like new glyphs are coming in the near future, I think the current table should be remade into 2 categories, more items and utility. The current one doesn't represent anything since all glyphs are tradable. --DyNasty Royal.6401 (talk) 19:37, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Hidden from GW2 Efficiency/Timer when equipped?[edit]

GW2efficiency and GW2timer will only 'find' glyphs for me if I unequip them. I can't figure out a way to find where my glyphs are across my account/characters.. is it an API bug with glyphs or something..? Honnaja 14:06, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Feedback 2022/01/11[edit]

It would be helpful if the wiki explained when glyphs are unused. For example, getting one with a tool (e.g. from the Black Lion statue trader which isn't mentioned) doesn't make it clear whether removing the glyph from such an item before using the tool means the glyph is unused, or whether merely being attached to a tool in the first place makes it used. --Vana Runedottir (talk) 04:39, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

"A rare drop in a Black Lion Chest. This provides an unused glyph of a random type that can be sold on the Trading Post." and then again "These glyphs can be obtained from opening Black Lion Chests or purchased from the Trading Post. However, only the unused variants can be traded." So it does already say the only way to get the "unused" versions and how to do so. --Dak393 (talk) 06:06, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

Is there a glyph for gathering snowflakes?[edit]

Similar to how frostbitten tools behave. --49.245.30.37 05:25, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
