Talk:Destruction

"a warrior might choose to harness the power of Destruction, to make all of his blows inflict area-of-effect damage."I think what Eric might have meant was actually the Destruction school of magic, and not a skill. The way he worded it makes it sounds like Destruction is something to tap (i.e., like a school of magic), and not a name of a skill. -- Konig/talk 21:57, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

It's used in the context of elite skills:
"Elite skills are designed to be infrequently-used, ultra-powerful skills that have a dramatic impact on the game. An Elementalist can call upon the power of the wind to shapeshift into a tornado that knocks enemies around and inflicts heavy damage, while a warrior might choose to harness the power of Destruction, to make all of his blows inflict area-of-effect damage."

I'm still iffy, but then again, I think that people are getting ahead of themselves with making 50 different pages, even pages that talk about the same thing. Names can change before release, so there's no need to put down 5 words for every single skill. -- Konig/talk 22:22, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, hey, we're excited. People are bound to ninja others. It can't be helped. --Naoroji User Naoroji Sigavatar.jpg 22:23, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
That's what redirecting pages is for!-- Shew 22:25, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Skill combinations[edit]

if the warrior used Destruction in a big wave of foes, while using Flurry. cuz in the Totalbiscuit around 14:45 gameplay of the charr, i saw Flurry do massive dmg to 3 foes infront of him, and if he used destruction to foes around him, it would been like Whirling Axe, just with a sword (and maybe for a longer time?)Zora Diem 07:23, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

100B + whirlwind attack much? ^^--you like that don't you..The Holy Dragons 07:25, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
haha, i just love the Melee AoE xD mostly on Dervishes with VoS+Sand Shards and Whirlwind Attack :D Zora Diem 20:17, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
You may be right, but keep in mind you're using an Elite skill and a burst skill here. At least for the elite, I'm pretty sure you're not using it too much. It would make for a deadly combo, but with a very long recharge time — making it somewhat awesome but impractical. -Alarielle- 20:28, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

was just checking if this was even possible :) and yeah, probably around 120s Recharge? Zora Diem 20:36, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Lol, try closer to 720s recharge. Elites in GW2 are not like in GW1 Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 21:52, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
no but they also decreased the original recharge times from 720s to some other number. not sure about the time for destruction but others have been to 120s and such. 74.140.47.76 20:57, 25 August 2011‎ (UTC)

Most melee attacks seem to have AoE now, as regular swings hit multiple foes in front of character. Scythes for everyone! Mediggo 06:44, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Except for mace, Grabbing a mace & shield combo would in theory make you that tanky single target shut-down type of warrior. I can definately see myself grabbing Destruction for those cases where the foes cluster together around me or when I dive in. Just to have that AoE dmg added onto the shutdown would make it worth my wile, I hope XD Deshiba 09:11, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
