Talk:"I Will Avenge You!"

This already sounds pretty OP, having 3 guys with this skill would make everyone impossible to kill. --AlbinoAce 02:29, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

I imagine the recharge will be long enough to prevent that. You're not honestly expecting an AoE pseudo-res (I say pseudo because it's downed, not defeated) to be spammable, are you? --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 03:17, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Pretty OP how? You have to kill an enemy while the rest of your party is dead (because otherwise you won't be using "I Will Avenge You"), so, seriously? --Naoroji User Naoroji Golem - Green.jpg 07:29, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
and how difficult do you really think it's going to be to kill one enemy? even if it has a long recharge time it's an open world, so any random warrior can just walk in and get a kill and bring everyone back, they didn't say your whole party has to be dead to use it either. sure it doesn't sound OP if you think of it as a small group of different professions going around killing things, but against bigger enemies i'm sure there will be more then a few warriors about using this. but hey, i'm sure this has already gone through their minds. --AlbinoAce 08:39, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Do you consider gw1:Light of Dwayna to be OP? The new IWAY is basically the same with a condition added to get the effect. Chriskang 09:00, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Oh man, my bad. this whole downed and dead thing has confused me, this skill only rallies allies and not revives them? --AlbinoAce 02:16, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Correct. it's not a mass revive, it's a mass rally. - Infinite - talk 03:04, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm still not entirely certain on the difference between revival and rally. I've looked at it so many different ways with so many different implications. >.<--Corsair@Yarrr 03:58, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Rally means recovering from a downed state. Revival is recovering from a defeated (dead) state. --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 04:44, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually, "Revival" is recovering from either a downed or defeated state (source). Rally means only recovering from a downed state. Erasculio 13:56, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Mmkay. --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 03:21, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
IWAY lives! >:D Arshay Duskbrow 00:01, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Question[edit]

if 2 people are down. and they are attacking the same foe and kill it, wouldn't they rally just the same?--74.12.183.186 23:14, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Yeah. - Giant Nuker 01:07, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Quotes[edit]

So, why is this the only shout skill in quotes? 82.149.1.199 16:58, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps this is the only intelligible warrior shout while the others are just sort of the warrior screaming in potent anger!
Fear Me! = RAAUGH!!! etc. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 94.247.97.4 (talk).

Any additional information?[edit]

Was just curious if anyone knew when this skill was removed and/or if Anet gave any reasons for the decision. It's sad to see IWAY come so close to making it into GW2. :P -Somohexual (talk) 19:24, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

My guess is that they felt an instant-casting non-elite AoE rally would be too powerful; they probably added that functionality to Battle Standard when they took this out. And as mentioned above, it is somewhat redundant since those allies should rally anyway if they're attacking the same target. Felix Omni Signature.png 20:15, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
my guess is they feared that some warriors would get together with some rangers, who happened to bring a shitload of bear pets, and the game would end. -86.172.205.111 16:36, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Ajax[edit]

If Ajax Anvilburn uses it, shouldn't this skill be set as a current monster skill, and leave a trivia note basically saying "this skill was unimplemented content for the warrior profession"? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 22:56, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Works for me. - Doodleplex 23:28, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
