Dialogue[edit]
During Gates of Maguuma[edit]
- No, I can't influence who gets a prisoner's billet.
- Only that it's someone official from Divinity's Reach. The negotiations are still underway. Personally, I hope they take him soon. He's an okay fellow. He deserves better than this cage of shame.
- I've gotten used to him. He's far more careless than he is evil. He doesn't think things through, and people get hurt. I think he's learned his lesson, but he still has to serve his time.
- That's only right.
You like Canach now?
- Understood.
I was actually wondering if you knew who's buying Canach's billet?
- It's a furlough program unique to Lion's Arch. Pay the fee and the prisoner is released to work for you until you get your money's worth. In turn, you are legally responsible for the prisoner.
- We're not selling people. We're allowing convicts to barter for their early release. They get more freedom, you get their labor, and the city gets cash up front. It's the Lion's Arch way.
- Think of it as investing in a prisoner's rehabilitation by literally taking on their debt to society. Their labor is your return on that investment. and like all investments, it comes with some risk.
- As the billet holder, you're legally responsible for the prisoner's actions. They break the law, they go back to jail...and you answer for it. That's why you should choose your billet carefully.
- Can I ask you a question?
- Thanks for the information.
What kind of risk?
That still sounds strange to me.
- Can I ask you a question?
- Thanks for the information.
You're selling people? That sounds shady.
- Can I ask you a question?
- Thanks for the information.
What's a billet?
- Never mind.
During Festival of the Four Winds[edit]
- I've answered a hundred billet questions today. Yes, more prisoners than usual are being billeted to raise cash and reduce the brig population.
- Oh. Sorry, it's been a long day. People hear that Lion's Arch is selling billets, and everyone wants an edge. I even had someone asking about Canach there.
- Some human. Had a noble demeanor, so I'm guessing Canach would be some sort of domestic if she bought him. The idea of him washing dishes for the rest of his sentence seems appropriate to me.
- He's not so bad. He's far more careless than he is evil. He doesn't think things through, and people get hurt. I think he's learned his lesson, but he still has to serve his time.
- That's only right.
You don't like Canach?
- I like your attitude.
Yeah? Who was asking?
- What's a billet?
- Understood.
I wasn't going to ask that.

During Battle for Lion's Arch: Aftermath[edit]
- I applaud your bravery in the face of danger. Your actions against Scarlet saved a number of Lionguard I know. Thank you, <Character name>.
- Take care.

During The Edge of the Mists[edit]
Subsequent dialogue[edit]
- Greetings. You must be a friend of Canach's.
- Cause he's nice to you. He's rarely nice to anyone.
- No. The billet sale went through. He's off to serve the Shining Blade. Kind of ironic when you think about it. A criminal like Canach helping such a noble guard unit.
- I'd call that justice.
From what he says, he won't be here much longer.
- What's a billet?
- Understood.
Why do you say that?
