- Yeah, I know I messed up. Couldn't think of a better name, but that works, yeah. —Ventriloquist 14:02, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Spot the difference[edit]

So, I tried this property today with {{#ask: [[Gives resource::Onion]]}}
, simply typing the text, see 1.
Then I copied the words Gives resource from the Template:Gathered from, i.e. {{#ask: [[Gives resource::Onion]]}}
, see 2.

), see this discussion, I'm removing them here too, hence I'm also somehow removing the crucial point of this discussion. Previously, I compared two queries where the first query contained a LTR mark and the second doesn't, since initally the template gather used a LTR mark in its property declaration. Thus it declared a different property (in SMW 2.5.X, upgrade to 3.0.0 in March 2020), namely one containing the LTR mark (which was inaccessible due to how page names are handled) and caused this property page (without any LTR mark) to be empty, see the confused discussions above. Note that in SMW 3.0.0 this got fixed, see smw:SMW 3.0.0 (#2435) and smw github. --Tolkyria (talk) 14:50, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Query 1 returns no result; Query 2 works, where's the difference?
Then I converted the the two lines into ASCII code and got this:
: { { # a s k : [ [ G i v e s r e s o u r c e wtf is this : : O n i o n ] ] } } < b r > 49 58 32 123 123 35 97 115 107 58 32 91 91 71 105 118 101 115 32 114 101 115 111 117 114 99 101 58 58 79 110 105 111 110 93 93 125 125 60 98 114 62 50 58 32 123 123 35 97 115 107 58 32 91 91 71 105 118 101 115 32 114 101 115 111 117 114 99 101 226 128 142 58 58 79 110 105 111 110 93 93 125 125 60 98 114 62 ----------- -> appearing in the copied text from the template {{gathered from}}, seems to be required to make the query work.
Edit: I copied Gives resource:: from {{Gathered from}}, the colons are somehow involved. --Tolkyria (talk) 15:43, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
