- The young Thorn warband picked on their runt, Nammal Ashthorn. He had the scholarly traits about him and did not do well with weapons.

- The next day, Bloodthorn returned, and Nammal cringed, expecting a blow. Instead, Bloodthorn grinned. "Howling worked. You're a genius."

- Word spread. The others in the warband went to Nammal for their minor ailments. Nammal got his revenge. He devised wild and humiliating cures for them.
