hey guys welcome back to the final guild chat of the first day of twitchcon the first-ever twitchcon in fact I'm now joined by a reni oh who is one of our skills Oh so I'm cut you off it's cool go ahead it was one of our skills and balance designers at arenanet most notably actually recognize him from earlier today with the Drude reveal you're a rockstar today actually thank you thank you for the introduction just don't it and speaking of rockstars we also have a Fanta Ram hello it was a place elementals for the absurd which is one of the top PP teams in an a and you know on this little segment the final segment to camp out that they were actually talking about profession balance which is something I think a couple people out they are fairly interested in just a couple so pretty cool stuff so I think we're to kick it off we're talking about some some of the more general changes that are we coming in and we'll go from there alright so I'm essentially going to go down a few of the items on this list it's a fairly lengthy list several pages we're not going to touch on every single change it's just gonna be kind of a preview yeah to touch on that actually the last time that we did a full on balance stream it took us six hours we don't have that long because we would be here until midnight so we're gonna cut it down and we're talk about some of the big high level stuff and then when we come back next Tuesday that's right I said next tuesday you could just read the patch notes for yourself that's right so on with some of the general changes all traps across all professions are going to be a five minute unpop duration this is just kind of normalizing them it's a communication thing we wanted to make sure that you know when you see a trap when you have a trap it's breezy pretty easy to figure out what it's going to do next runa vampirism currently there's some wacky behavior with it specifically all of your your profession stuff still works while you are made missed no more justjust no more pv peers are excited about that because we get to use them again rather than them being banned in the SL I'm sorry you speak so softly did you say you don't use it anymore we could they were banned to me and said oh that's right that's right oh sorry I should have that we can use board again uh yes so rude a vampeer in fix going in the real fix the ultimate fix are going in and we got one more general own right yeah well actually two more two more generals both pretty pretty decent one is that revealed was a bugged for a little while where it was only removing the last stack of stealth that had been applied instead of all still period now it's actually going to properly just pull off all stuff that you have and other than that crippled which could previously stack nine times for its duration is going down to five so there's going to be just that lack of you know getting someone with stacked to say 30 seconds of crippled or okay beyond all right so speaking of reveal let's move on to elementalist the do you need some tissues or I think I'll be fine alright well we'll keep those handy just in case so first off up the elementalist has been kind of oppressive in PvP and one of the ways that it was doing so was specifically with burning and so we were kind of trying to take a measured approach to this and take away some of that oppression give other professions a decent chance to properly respond without simply getting gift one of these ways is through blinding ashes the recharge on it is going to be increased from five seconds 28 seconds still usable not going to be completely insane burning fire it's no longer going to apply might whenever you use a canned trip yeah okay bet you yep that I always heard that you're good um Drake's breath the burning duration slight decrease three seconds to two-and-a-half not too not too bad shaving and Ring of Fire this is where things get a little more heavy hands mostly listening closely this is a lot of changes here yeah so first off it's now going to apply to you stacks of burning for four seconds initially but that's right before you had to cross the threshold but now if you're in the radius of it you cast a skill you'll be afflicted with tubesex of burning right exactly and the amount that is applied when you cross ring of fire is going from force or from three stacks for five seconds to one stack for two seconds so oh sorry speak again it's like it's kind of a buff kind of a nerve in some ways it depends on the situation so I did overall it's about the same the one thing I'm excited about though is I can actually use the ability against necros they can't put 15 burn back on me anymore it's true so actually there is a one of the trade-offs here is that a necromancer can't dance back and forth between it anymore and send it back with the new dagger for or any other sort of transfer staff for but I think for the most part the the reason I like to change because it doesn't limit players who like if you're on point and you're trying to leave point and nellie throws down a ring of fire your kind of trapped you kind of stay there for a little walk the amount of damage you would take from 36 of burning over five seconds is it's pretty substantial so basically it's remove the space it means that the Ring of Fire will be initially more useful you put it down just damaged replies burning but you have a bit more ability to leave the point and have to go back and forth between if you need to there were also some very unlucky situations where you might cross through it like three or four times like instantly or so and then get diagonal teleport was really bad yeah all right moving along um glyph of elementals ah congratulations this just gets a buck you weren't using it before but hey it's going from 120 second recharge to 90 seconds so yeah just a little bit more I think I think the main comment there for me is like we we know that elementalists by the way I push the button on this so I really hope I didn't break it I did but we know the elementals is kind of limited in elite availability and what they can actually use and stay competitive with tornadoes pretty int speaking PvP specifically tornado is situational at best and then i would say fgs is kind of the go-to i think we're looking for is opening up elemental being able to be used a bit more often right now gets cleaved out pretty quickly in team fights especially but maybe like a 1 1 on 1 node pusher set my technical crosspoint crossmap if I don't know next we have the elemental up not only just for you know the initial engagement may be mobile times in those long drawn-out engagements so yeah I could definitely see that being a possibility if you could if I could use it three or four times and one match for one be ones that would help me win those that's pretty significant I think we're gonna move on to the engineer now so that's okay we'll get to that later oh no we got some scepter stuff scepter at least scepter did he say scepter what did he say center I thought okay I know we're going slow all my song specifically so bad I wanna talk explicit enough for next week but okay it's just what we don't have to get into detail because I completely blew this uh we can say that there are some amount of buffs happening to scepter yeah and most notably I would say is uh some damage being added back into some places and also like things like dragon's tooth pink round targeted so you can actually use it in meaningful ways and not only where that's right wow we're already at the 15-minute mark yeah we kind of made you start breaking okay alright so on the engineer top flamethrower the auto attack on it is getting a damage increase boom fragmentation shot the pistol it's the bleed duration from it is going to go from two seconds to three seconds fifty percent increase so you're going to be able to just stack more bleeds baseline healing turret the cleansing burst on this is now going to be affected by AMR and it's also going to be affected by your healing power so it's actually going to scale up properly now yep so they change for AMR specifically is when there's a trait that will recharge your heel and what would happen occasionally your heel recharge but your flip over skill that your actual your first skill wouldn't be recharged so you 30 he'll tear down and you find cleansing birthstone cool so that bug which was a little bit more of an annoyance anything has been fixed that's right okay um uh here more magnet is uh there was some strange behavior with magnet so before it would not fully pull a target to you if it was near the edge of range and now it will go the full on pole up to 1,200 if necessary medical dispersion field this was a trait that was pretty universally reviled we have us we have decided to rework it so now there is no internal cooldown it's only triggered by your own heels on yourself you got to be the source and the actual healing get gets pulsed out to any allies has been increased up to twenty percent of the heels that you have applied to yourself so hopefully we'll see a little bit more play from that takedown round was another trait that didn't see very much play we have decided to simply increase the damage on it by fifty percent and now it's also affected by shrapnel so crippled bleed there as well oh we missed one mortar okay let's do it all right straight up mortar kit you're firing mortars those are explosions it's affected now by explosive powder yes there's a lot of stuff in that trait you guys should go look it up but uh they work a little bit more damage out of the bad boy now oh yeah okay continuing to blaze we I think we uh you know we got some high level stuff they only look at list here I'm gonna look over sure no fourth area it looks weird on camera I'm sure haha awkward uh yeah let's move on to Guardian okay so straight up on guardian the shield of judgment has been changed its been normalized between pvp and PVE modes so now both of them will simply do give you a well apply a four-second ages whereas i believe there were three seconds and five seconds before four well yes specifically it was uh this is a buff and a slight normalization so before she'll just reapply three seconds of prot in PvP five seconds in PvE and what was this world now it's four in bulk so buff up and a buff down or up it's a buff down a thing I'm pointing that it's a buff down and but netted benefit obviously is the aegis you mentioning is yes is getting applied now sodium in front is applied gauge to everyone so it's actually a nice little buff there where that thing is on a short cooldown i will say that there's been a lot of complaints about shield and so we've actually been looking at that trying to do we can do for guardians it regards to the shield and so we did a lot of a base cool down rowlands and we've done actually think we reached it further from the base close to the Old Queen's royal astronomically higher and these two changes we're in the next one is our next whoop ass on what we can do to make shield feel a bit better alright so we just spoke about shield of judgment shield of absorption is has been a one and a half second one and two one and a quarter second channel now we're actually going to increase it it's going to be a four second channel in compensation we're no longer routing you you can now move around with the bubble butt that's a great change for the functionality of the scale is typically you'd either use it instantly for the heel because people are walking by you or you'd use it for the projectile destruction but now you can like pop the projectile destruction as you're walking towards your teammate and then heal them so makes it much yeah I like to think of this like with a like mace three right like a lot of times I'm playing poker guardian I'll try to jump on top of someone and pop it off because I'm trying to play defensively right so the idea of having shield on and you're off and with that being able to you know bump you know protect them with your shield she'll are basically rather it'll be able to pop off shield of absorption and follow them around as people are trying to line up with was that or we gotta keep blazin man Oh was at the time were you giving me the time that's right I'm the host I set the pace sorry all right so um straight on down feel my wrath um this was just kind of really strong we're increasing the recharge 30 seconds to 45 seconds flat out pretty simple row would call it pretty good um save yourselves we run splitting this between PvE and PvP this is a straight-up PvP buff we're now using Pete the PVE version of it cross both modes let's bertos like a huntress em up yeah you know like that's the actual number yeah okay so uh let's move on to the Mesmer alrighty so uh chaotic dampening we're just increasing this trait rather sorry we're increasing the effects of this by twenty-five percent so from two percent to two-and-a-half percent banchory I told about this crazy bill this morning and I told him about this buff and he's like oh yes I was slightly mistaken about that build i thought was alacrity about alacrity was a little stronger than it actually was oh i just call you out on stream you know you're wrong I'm dad alright that's cool no worries um so this is just a quality of life change but when you use portal you're now gonna have a buff that actually shows how long do you have to throw down the other side of it yes yes just just a quality of life as well Mesmer's yes all right um sorry Mesmer's quality of life change kind of a nerf here prismatic understanding no longer gonna be one hundred percent cutting it in half that's it I like it you just barrel down the camera at them like you don't even flinch you look him right in the eye sometimes things need to happen I'm gonna say for the good of the game but on the other side but we were looking at Mesmer sword and that is receiving across its main hand skills a straight up buff so we got mine gash mind spike mind / all of them ten percent damage buff so I know you stepped over in the because of time but one thing that's really cool here is the focus change do you want to cover that I you want to cover that don't you you all right okay that's what I thought I could just yeah hey here we go all right so uh temporal curtain I'm gonna read a weapon thing I'm still bad at this uh so basically in ropes is rolled when you throw it down you get like four second element of swiftness and then it was kind of a pain but he's going he's at the one time especially now when you throw it down it'll give you a 14-percent or 14 seconds not forty percent of 14 seconds no 12 it's okay it's okay so yeah 12 seconds no worries I'm so excited I'm like tripping over myself basically the gist of it is if you're in Roe vs world which diagnosis the most you can throw down your focus for and you actually get 12 seconds upfront swiftness ain't have to worry about you know it just felt bad before that's honestly just felt bad before no there's that's a good quality of life change I think I was so giddy over that I'm embarrassed hey no that's fine I understand that you've forsaken all of your engineer brethren to go mezmur slowly true chrono man sir man ah let's move on the necromancers cuz it got some pretty good love ya necromancer's so corrosive poison cloud he's gotten some new functionality and it's pretty awesome functionality so first up adoration decrease from 12 seconds 28 seconds we're giving that back to you in the form that it is now destroying all projectiles that enter into it yep eight-second projectile destruction area it's also going to pulse every two seconds instead of see three seconds since we're reducing that duration down moving right along the acts skills they're going up to a 900 radius so enjoy that little bit like the range Robert it a lot on all the acts kills the range is 900 the range on Rendon claws and gas leak laws was going to go to 900 that's pretty significant rubber was actually excited about these changes oh yeah he actually had these in a while back I remember him talking about it and yeah we weren't able to get them in like as soon as he had them built cuz builds they happen yeah like rubber g is like Colin's gift to necromancer's and Mesmer's there you go no it's straight-up true scepter neck receptor so very small decreases to the bleeds on the first two it is now getting a oh my we've got a really blazed okay five minutes all right 555 warning i didn't see it that was the five minute warning okay I'm just gonna start just motor mounting through this stuff so okay scepter one two and three sorry combo they have bleeds on them going from five seconds to four and a half seconds the third skill it now gets a poison duration increase 26 seconds and it's getting a four and a half second bleed it's above it is straight up above it I'm going to skip a couple of these that would have conferred otherwise feast of corruption so there was a little bit of muddling here we were trying to make it a little more interesting a little easier to read what we're going to do is it's going to apply a base two stacks of torment and then based upon the number of conditions that the target has it will apply up to five stacks more torment one per every stack of her every condition on the target if Fanny rooms given the face right now but yeah basically you have a okay it's a lot of torment pasa todo na necromancer's there like that yeah you skipped over some stuff but there's a lot of changes in your fourth scepter specifically for necromancer that I think should help help bring it back into play a little bit yep lingering curse the consideration effectiveness fifty percent now that's all there is to it on the other side when you go into a transform your minions will no longer go bye-bye enjoy sorry engineers and Mesmer's yeah on to the Ranger so beastly warden the taunt from it was da jable and blockable this was not intended behavior it's getting fixed got to happen most dangerous game this one has gotten a bit of a rework it's now going to apply five stacks of might 43 seconds every second that you're below so if you're under fifty percent for three seconds you're fifteen stacks of might plus however much you might gain from green duration nature's vengeance this is the spirit Bass Strait yeah it was kind of really bad for a little while we're buffing up a little bit on frost spirit instead of one second of might every three seconds it's good yeah yeah it's going up to three seconds three stacks of might for three seconds so that's just constantly posting three stacks of might enjoy also doing similarly instead of one second of swiftness every three seconds you're getting three seconds of sickness every three seconds from storm spirit if it's traded and same with the regeneration from water spirit three seconds every three seconds quick draw this one's a fun one many of your Rangers pointed out that it wasn't stacking its Cup it's a cooldown reduction with other traits it now will so if you've got stuff that's you know reducing the cooldown on your say great sword abilities this now stacks with that here's a big one Ranger pets they're all getting conditioned damage baseline depending upon which family it will be they will get either 400 condition damage 700 ish and damage or that was in condition damage just a quality of life change that since the june twenty third patch needed to go in so here it is this last is my favorite one actually excited about it's one that i really enjoyed putting in as well we heal is one the heel shout it's now going to make it so that in addition to the heal all wounds that are on you or copy do your pet all boons that are in your pet are copied to you I think that'll makes a guy the bed waving his arms around oh yeah ya know people are happy about that one up okay on to the thief we're running out of time here so the pistol damage buffs okay yeah we've just been given the 2-minute warning just ignore armor ennio all rights do okay let's go all right these pistol day in the damage buff straight up pretty decent ones we're talking like twenty percent plus potent poison poison damage increases going from ten percent to thirty-three percent see how you guys do with that vigorous recovery the vigor durations going from five to seven fifty percent well most a fifty percent increase and expeditious Dodger this is getting a one hundred percent duration buff from two seconds of swiftness 24 seconds of Swiss Miss because yeah two seconds of swiftness that's that doesn't feel good on to warrior final profession rousing resilience is going to go a good huge percent buff increased one hundred and thirty percent I've dueled he when he's using it and it's a it's actually a viable method of sustained I was playing DD I shouldn't go in a story continue you told me it was it was hilarious I I pictured it was last op still stay on track okay I'll track on track back on track or it was the right card okay uh oh geez okay yeah don't wanna get banned in this one foul oh okay Last Stand recharge insane ninety seconds taking it down it's 40 seconds now the rifle for Warrior II is getting a bit of a damage buff straight up shield bash shield bash and shield stands are both getting recharged reductions they're going to 25 20 seconds for shield bash and 25 seconds for shield stance respectively oh yeah there was that note you mentioned earlier the one shield bash is also getting an extended knock down uh stun duration generation uh yeah yeah whatever from one second to two seconds boom boom okay and there was one of the change we fir elementalists elementalists ice bow fifty percent damaged nerve it now affects three targets per hit enjoy thank you for the mic chopper any oh so there are definitely other changes that are going to be going in as well like one of ones we wanted to call out was going to be the vigor trait for elemental sonic rip is going to be normalized with all the other professions that had their vigor gain on crit normalized so it's going to 10 second recharge with a five second duration instead of the five and five that it currently has but there's a bunch of other stuff that's in there check it out next Tuesday you
