Fountains can be found within Xera's Twisted Castle. During the Traverse the Twisted Castle encounter, these allow the players with Forsaken Thicket Waters mastery to mitigate the effects of Madness. Two options are present when interacting with a fountain:

Dip your hands into the water.

This will reduce the character's madness by 10.

Drink the water.

This will grant temporary immunity to incurring extra madness through having the character face the rotating spire in the center of the Twisted Castle.

Either choice will only take effect when actively selecting "Leave." after and apply Still Waters to the character, preventing further fountain use for one minute.

Dialogue

The fountain water shimmers.

Dip your hands into the water.

You feel a sense of calm.

Leave. (removes 10 stacks of madness)

Drink the water.

You are reinvigorated.

Leave. (applies the soothing waters effect)

Notes

• Removing stacks of madness is always the better option as facing the rotating spire - the only thing Soothing Waters provides immunity against - can be avoided while passively stacking madness can not.
