I don't understand the fishermen here. They are so afraid of the krait. I'd picture a fisherman to be more adventurous. Isn't danger part of the allure of fishing?

I'm not sure that's it.

Maybe not, but the waters are treacherous, with or without the krait. You wouldn't expect someone who spends every day by the lake to be so timid. It takes guts to fish.
