Holy jalepeno, how have we not replaced those cell phone captures yet.... even I feel ashamed at that. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 18:58, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
I love how some "bestiary" screenshots contain locations. This either needs a complete rework or just be launched off into space. --Ventriloquist (talk) 20:06, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Object inclusion[edit]

Should images for objects be included in this category? Personally, I'd say so, but I would like at least one more opinion on the matter before acting on it. Sunlion (talk) 06:00, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Imo objects are not beasts. However I think humans are also not beasts...
I could do some rough categorizing with a bot where anything in the NPC infobox goes to "NPC screenshots". Same for Location/Object/Back item/Weapon infobox. I'd love to break the 26k files in Category:Screenshots down a bit. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:10, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
I disagree with putting objects in the Bestiary category. However, based on the wiki Bestiary humans should be included, Alex, since our Bestiary is catalogue of all races in GW(2), humans included, not just a list of beasts. ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 23:25, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
So what should happen with images such as File:Branded Turret Crystal.jpg as they're used for both foes and objects? Sunlion (talk) 07:43, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
I think I'd leave them in the Bestiary category. I'll have a go with putting object screenshots into Category:Object screenshots this morning- I'll skip anything with manual categories on it. For the moment i'm only looking at files in Category:Screenshots, but I'll take a look at the file context for files in this category whilst the bot is whirring away. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 07:49, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
The bot doesn't seem to be catching chest images, by the way. Sunlion (talk) 08:08, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
If you're talking about location maps for getting to objects I've skipped those deliberately. It's done about 2700 files so far. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:31, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Back to the original topic, the files in this category also used on objects are:

(Reset indent) What I meant by chest images was the actual captures of the models for the chests, but I suppose it should work as long as those chest models are shared with another object. Sunlion (talk) 08:36, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

And what should happen with weapon captures that are shared with objects? Sunlion (talk) 08:37, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
I'm thinking leave them as weapons if they appear on more weapon pages than objects. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:53, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
