Walkthrough[edit]
- Attacking Shades
Shades will constantly spawn during the fight. If players don't kill them, the shades will overwhelm the players with the Corruption effect. Shades are immune to direct damage, but they will still take Condition Damage and are affected by crowd control effects. A Group of Shades will spawn from either side of the room when a quarter of the Risen Priest of Grenth's health is taken off. Their attacks will inflict the Corruption effect on players, lasting for 60 seconds. Shades will also stack Corruption quickly by their rising numbers without directly attacking. The more stacks of Corruption a player have, the less damage he can inflict on Risen Priest of Grenth.
To directly attack Shades, stand on the brown pit on either side of the room, which will grant Grenth's Domain effect, allowing you to deal damage to the shades. Standing in the brown pit again will remove the effect. Killing Shades will ease players from receiving stacks of Corruption. If more than several players are in the event instance, it is essential to have most of the players attack Shades before inflicting more damage on the Risen Priest of Grenth.
- Attacking Risen Priest of Grenth
The Risen Priest of Grenth has multiple dangerous attacks. His primary attack is summoning multiple ice shards above players that crash down after a couple of seconds, dealing damage in a small radius. The number of shards will increase with the players, causing shards to stack on each other. This can make it difficult to avoid the attack in a large group, as well as not get instantly downed if you get hit.
The Risen Priest of Grenth will also use Velocity of Teleport, which summons multiple brown rifts on the ground. Stepping into one of these rifts will teleport the player into the air, dealing heavy fall damage. Avoiding the rifts can be difficult while attempting to dodge the ice shards and other skills at the same time. Players are instantly defeated when they die from falling damage, making it very difficult to recover in the middle of a battle due to the nearest waypoint being in The Shipyard.
- Protecting Keeper Jonez Deadrun
Keeper Jonez Deadrun proves to be a significant problem during this fight. If he is defeated, the event instantly fails. It is crucial that players don't fight on the stairs where Keeper Jonez is standing, as drawing attention to enemies from the stairs will indirectly attack Keeper Jonez, particularly the Well of Darkness attacks from multiple Veteran Risen Wraiths in the area. The outcome of players fighting on the stairs can fail the event in 10 seconds.
The ice shard attack is also deadly to Keeper Jonez. If the Risen Priest of Grenth gets too close to the stairs, or if multiple players stand near him, multiple ice shards can hit him at once, dealing heavy damage and potentially defeating Keeper Jonez. A common tactic is to pull or lure the Risen Priest of Grenth to the back of the room near the hero challenge to prevent Keeper Jonez from getting hit while another group of players concentrates on reducing the population of Shades.
Although Shades can't hit Keeper Jonez, be alert for any stray Risen that may attack him.
