Crafting professions[edit]
How did you come to the short hand version of those? and might it be better to just have the full name? --JonTheMon 19:10, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- I used the professions templates as a guideline... those just use the first letter of the profession (or the first two if there's a conflict). Wasn't sure if that was from something specific or just shorthand to make editing quicker. Osuracnaes 19:14, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- Personally I feel we might want to use the full names here alongside the shorthand names. Why both? Because the template for the professions themselves are already quite popular, but the crafting professions might not yet share this intuitivity (oh dear, a modern word!). Better safe than sorry in this case, though I think I could easily get used to the shorthand names. - Infinite - talk 19:29, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- Well, until the community gets around to figuring out the shorthand for the crafting professions, it might be better to just have them as long form. The first GW had nice shorthands for defining professions and that's carried over to GW2. It's not quite the same with crafting, and there might even be the chance that it'll get crafting and regular professions mixed up. Also, the range of abbreviations from L to Hunt is a bit much. --JonTheMon 19:42, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

- (I think we edited at the same time... :P) Would one template for all icons be better... kind of like the mat icon template? Something like {{prof icon|armorsmith}}. -- osuracnaes (talk) 20:05, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- I think one template per discipline is fine, although having a collective template would probably be useful at some point. I agree with Jon's suggestion of using the full discipline names for the templates, so I'll go ahead and move them (since I want to use them in {{Recipe}} right now). —Dr Ishmael 15:20, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
linking plurals[edit]
To create a link with a simple plural form, put the 's' outside the brackets, like [[engineer]]s
. For complex plurals, use a pipe within the brackets after the article name, then provide the text you want to display, like [[thief|thieves]]
. The general guideline for any wiki is that internal links should not point to redirects, so it is preferred that we use forms like this to link directly to the intended article. —Dr Ishmael 02:25, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, ok, sorry! Thanks for the clarification. -- osuracnaes (talk) 02:27, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
An Apple a Day[edit]
What is the race of the character you did this story with? - Yandere 15:52, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sylvari -- osuracnaes (talk) 16:34, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- That was expected. Your racial sympathies prevent you from getting the other two storylines. But they are there for norn and charr for example. Anyway, these stroyline seem to be common for all races and orders with the order representatives swapped out, so it is probably better do put the higher tier storylines in one nav: Template:Orders storyline - Yandere 17:21, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
