Anet and less aggressive[edit]
I don't recall that. Do you remember where that was stated? --JonTheMon 12:44, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- It's been the recurring theme whenever Regina and Martin have discussed Community resources they intend to provide to us... The Wiki will be part of their larger "Media Network" which we have not gotten full details on yet. Their latest Blog about Official forums made kind of a big deal about this but there were several other mentions of their intentions to only support the more-welcoming GW communities. Upon further request, I can find time to dig the articles/blurbs up if you require more evidence. --ilr 23:30, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- Could you dig up some of those articles please? Aqua (T|C) 04:01, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- A more we want more. We no longer remember the days when GWW was NOT the official wiki. I would settle for having the wiki Spanish, French and German at the same level as the English and integrated with the game before that... In my opinion Lasha 07:34, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- You talking about GuildWiki or what? Because, afaik, Guild Wars Wiki was alwaya official and hosted by Anet. Mediggo 07:47, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I talk about it. I remember when, to obtain information, were watching the two. For Grenth! Those first days were confusing ... But, now, nobody remembers the beginning. Lasha 08:38, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

- So, i tracked down the blog post about community, and the gist was: "we want respectful communities, not places full of vitriol and trolling". Pling strikes me as respectful, but firm, which would fall under that idea even w/o being overly friendly. --JonTheMon 21:15, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not attributing those characteristics directly to him, just pointing out that his response style incites people into behaving that way, ppl who wouldn't normally respond that way if another Admin were to demonstrate more empathy the way Tane does... --ilr 20:41, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Incites people into behaving that way? Is that due to a general backlash to any sort of authority or an intentional provocation or what? --JonTheMon 21:01, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- It's things that never needed enforcement. Most people object to authority when it appears to be solely for the sake of "power tripping" --ilr 06:39, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- tbh, who power trips on a small wiki about a video game that isnt even out? -Auron 06:42, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah that's what I'd like to know.... in any case, if being an admin the past year has taught me anything at all, it's that there's a right way to motivate people, and a wrong way. This "community" stuff that RB has been pushing isn't just a nice marketing slogan, it really is important. You can't go cutting off potential longtime contributors at the knees just b/c they start off a little n00by or say things that annoy you. ...Not even saying anyone's "unfit to Admin" here... I'm saying they just need to start off a lot friendlier than they've been in the past if this community is going to start off on the right foot. --ilr 18:17, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- But is that really a qualification for an admin? "not mean" still offers a moderately wide spectrum. Also, that seems more like a community thing than an admin thing. --JonTheMon 18:22, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- I personally think it's more of a community thing too. Usually the first contact that a new user to the wiki have are regular users. In almost all the cases that I can remember where a new user was intimidated or trolled off the wiki, a regular user "greeted" the new user in a manner that could be interpreted as hostile. The newbie deletes the greeting, a regular user reverts it quoting policy in a hostile manner and incorrectly, other users join the revert bandwagon, things get a bit out of hand, and an admin has to step in to get things under control. --Lania 18:40, 06 April 2012 (UTC)
- I hope that ends up being the case and I have no issues with Pling retaining both positions so long as he doesn't use either position to enforce personal policy preferences and format requirements that weren't Majority-endorsed. Organization is supposed to make the Contributors' and the Readers' lives easier and that's it. If he can keep that in mind this time around, then I have no further objections. --ilr 01:09, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Empyreal Fragment note[edit]
Were your characters level 80? —Dr Ishmael 21:04, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, go try the one behind Hopefalls, and Dierde's Steps ... Also the chest you have to unlock with a Bomb in Griffon Run (yes I know the splendid chest halfway through gives a couple but still...highly unexpected for the trouble it usually is --ilr 07:13, 6 September 2013 (UTC))
Open World Chests[edit]
When you talked about Open World Chests here it was not clear where they were located. You mentioned "been popping plenty of those Non-JP ones scattered around and they're all 2-4 range as well." Can you please be more specific where these are located? ~ 1Maven < 18-December-2013
