Weapon galleries[edit]
You don't have to bother with uploading the newest weapons' images, they all share their skins with some other weapon set, which all have high-quality images already uploaded on the wiki. Meaning that we can just reuse them, without having three images of the same weapon. For example, if a weapon currently has no image on its page, check its skin equivalent, and then add gallery = <skin name>.jpg
to the infobox. That will add the HQ screenshot and reduce duplicates, which are never good. I'll delete the images you uploaded, as we already have the weapon's image on the wiki. If you have any questions, just shout! --Ventriloquist 13:19, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
- Vent, you should probably have a delay between identifying stuff to delete (add the tag), and the actual deletion.
- Also it would probably be helpful if you'd linked to an actual example of what you're gibber jabbering about.. example. -Chieftain Alex 14:58, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice, Alex, didn't know I had to contest newly created images. Yesyes, Alex's example is exactly what I was gibber jabbering about, it works for icons as well. --Ventriloquist 15:32, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
generic loot[edit]
There's no need to document generic loot on specific NPCs. Basically any weapon or armor - these drops are either completely generic or region-based (see User:Dr ishmael/loot for details). —Dr Ishmael 15:19, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
User infobox![edit]
Hey I've changed {{User infobox}}, and added a new birthday param that expects a date in YYYY/MM/DD format. It returns a nicely formatted birth day, and how old you are based on that info (example). – Valento msg 21:17, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! It would be nice if the GW age would also automatically update like this. Maybe someday. :P - Flakkenmarsh (talk) 13:15, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
Voice actors[edit]
Hi, I noticed that you recently added a huge number of actors to the Voice actor article - each of which pretty much had a red link for the NPC name. I have no idea if you'll be creating articles for all those voice actors, but if the NPC doesn't exist yet, please don't link to it. -Chieftain Alex 10:48, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- I am planning on working on that page at a later stage, which is why I added the links to the bottom. A few of those red links were incomplete or incorrect names. Mister Sparkles was fixed by changing it to Mr. Sparkles - things like that. I intend to complete it. Is there a draft mode or something I should've used instead? Flakkenmarsh (talk) 12:51, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- Working on the article while its still in the main namespace is fine. Just be wary of creating links to NPCs that may have been removed from the game prior to general release... e.g. [[Bohcht]], which, as the link says, was previously deleted because "This NPC was removed from the game and was voiced by person xyz." isn't article worthy ^^ -Chieftain Alex 13:06, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Thank you. Shall I keep the name in the list, but just remove the link? Or should Bohcht not be in the list at all then? Flakkenmarsh (talk) 13:08, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- The wiki usually keeps historical data, but only if certain content is added and then removed. If it never happens to be added to the live game then it shouldn't be listed at all, plus that voice actor may voice other characters in the future, so it's worth keeping. – Valento msg 13:27, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- imo keep the name of the NPC after the voice actor, just don't link it. Maybe move the more well known (major) characters to the front of the list for each actor though? --81.153.69.56 14:21, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- If it was never added to the game, we can still include that on the VA page as long as it was in the official release or a source is available saying it was planned.--Relyk ~ talk < 15:22, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Lion's Arch Exterminator[edit]
Hi there. I've put up a table on the achievement page and added in the location/descriptions. However, they're quite ambiguous and subjective, so it wouldn't hurt if you could edit them up a bit to make them more clearer and direct. —Ventriloquist 07:28, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- Aha! Thank you, I will do so! Flakkenmarsh (talk) 09:54, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
cropping minor trait icons[edit]
Please keep the file square at 64x64px. —Dr Ishmael 12:22, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- darnit.. I'm sorry. I do try >_< --Flakkenmarsh (talk) 12:30, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- If you feel like doing more... check my userpage for archives of the game textures. The trait icons are in the 64x64 set. The file 1002160.png is the hexagon mask that the game uses on minor traits - you can use that to get a consistent "crop" on all the icons. —Dr Ishmael 12:35, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- sigh. I wish I saw this sooner. I'll redo them all tomorrow. ♥Flakkenmarsh (talk) 12:55, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
