At least the dpl list highlights why recipe sheets should use the crafting infobox.--Relyk ~ talk > 20:01, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Lol, so accidentally, I've created a list of items that need their infobox updated? D: oh gee. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:26, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
It's just something I've been bitching about and trolling ishmael with: User_talk:Dr_ishmael#Recipe_sheets_and_infobox--Relyk ~ talk > 20:31, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

charts[edit]

I wanted to use:

{{#ask: [[User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox/line#Heavy Bag of Coins Drop Rate data]]
| ?Has drop rate data contributor
| ?Contains coin

| format = jqplotseries
| theme = simple
| charttype = scatter
| labelaxislabel = Contributor
| numbersaxislabel = Coin
| datalabels = none
| chartlegend = ne

| direction = vertical
| height = 1200
| width = 1200

| link = none
| headers = show
| mainlabel = -
}}

(previously threw error because has type::number hadn't been set on the property page) >.> -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 12:58, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

What is that crazy thing o.O That being said, you don’t want to use a scatter plot for drop rate research but a histogram. poke | talk 13:40, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
Oh well, this thing does not support histograms natively, so FML… poke | talk 13:56, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
I'm just looking through all the formats trying to find something that would work. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 14:09, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
We could use variables to store the frequency for each coin amount, and then at the end of the page set an X-Y coordinate for each point (e.g. X=1000 coins, Y=2 occurances) on a scatter graph. its just that its going to be a very long flat boring graph unless we grouped the amounts into say 50 Copper coin increments. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:27, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox8 ^^^ pretty happy with that. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:24, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
smw:Help:Jqplotchart_format#Parameters - not sure if the "distribution" parameter would create a histogram if used properly. needs research. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:30, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Recipes for feast recipe sheets[edit]

(awkward query, worse wiki-coding). I'm suprised that feasts of the same level don't require the same amounts of "core" ingredients (crystals/wine/tokens) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:29, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

I can see 88 feast recipes in the api spreadsheet... -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:43, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
And probably more undiscovered ones.--Relyk ~ talk < 01:36, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

PvP armor[edit]

Unfortunately I trashed my PC this afternoon (powercut + installing applications...), and thus lost the spreadsheet I had been working on with these values - I'd filled out all the tiers + races on the offline version. (-_-) Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:38, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Event Timer[edit]

Hihi. So far I've played around a bit with the colour scheme. Unsure about some of the fade elements used in the Heart of Thorns section (I think PoF is much cleaner), but otherwise I think it gives a good idea of the thought process. Reverielle (talk) 09:01, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

I like the HoT fade elements! I think it's a good way of communicating the "pre/post-event" nature of those events. One thing I would suggest though is keeping the use of light/dark consistent throughout all the timers -- currently, some of them are light during downtime and dark during events, others are the opposite. —Idris User Idris signature.png 09:02, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
The live timers have light downtime and dark events; I recommend keeping that coloring scheme. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 09:32, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
Great job so far Reverielle. I really like the consistency of using the same colours for each category. I've tweaked some of the colours and removed the fade because, imo, the fade looks out of place.
Idris might be right about tones - I'm crap at picking matching tones.
As to whether the interesting events have dark or light, I'm not bothered which way around it goes. Whichever is the nicer colour I guess. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:15, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
Okay after a bit of encouragement on discord we've come from 1 to arrive at 2. Looks fine imo. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:43, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

It looks good to me. Yes, the light-dark point is good. My (limited) understanding of colour is that lighter colours come to the 'foreground' whilst darker tones go to the 'background' in a painting/image. But really that's irrelevant I guess as long as it's consistent like mentioned, and is hardly an issue anyways when using fluro colours (such as the Verdant Brink scheme in 2). I wasn't overly sold on the fade myself, was just playing around. Though it could be argued it does make thematic sense for some pre/post-events I think it's cleaner (and more importantly more consistent) without. The colours themselves? Well that's entirely up to personal preference so I think almost anything works, at the end of the day I was hoping the changes would make things generally a bit clearer across the board and I think it does that. I hope you all think so too. Reverielle (talk) 21:41, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks again for having a go at changing the colours; comparing the current live theme with these colours really emphasises just how poor my colour choices have been since heart of thorns release. I will implement the changes tomorrow or at the weekend at the latest. --Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 05:57, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
