Talk:Trash Collector

It might be helpful for the most efficient farming of trash if the region was added into the table. This could be in a separate, sortable column or even better just added to the "map" names (i.e. "Blazeridge Steps" being changed to "Ascalon - Blazeridge Steps"). If that seems too long you could use abbrevations for the region - A = Ascalon, K = Kryta, M = Maguuma, O = Orr, S = Shiverpeaks, V = Various. 68.205.251.6 17:16, 12 September 2014 (UTC) Bob R.

The table currently seems to be a list of specific suggested areas for farming, rather than a list of any-location-what-you-can-find-this-thing, so adding region seems superfluous, unless we rework the table to be the latter sort of list. --Idris (talk) 17:24, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
It's dependent on foe race/family and level. Certain families drop certain categories of trophy, while different levels drop the different tiers of that type; e.g. Hermit Crabs (and other crab-type enemies) drop Seashells at low levels, Shell at middle levels, and Spiral Shell at high levels. Location only matters indirectly because of where you find the foes at different levels. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 17:39, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
In the future I'll probably sort junk items like I did crafting containers, but I can't be bothered at the moment. Tyndel (talk) 17:42, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Alternate locations[edit]

Spiral Shell (t3) is also dropped by Hermit Crabs in Fireheart Rise around Pig Iron Waypoint. If an item's location seems far to go, check the wiki page for that item regarding other places to try for it. --Gold Recluse (talk) 22:06, 21 September 2014 (UTC)

Hot Stone seems a bit difficult. The cave with destroyers in it is the smallest I've seen in GW2 and a few spawn points nearby seem slow on reset. There are about four events involving destroyers nearby but none of them started during the half hour I was in the area. --Gold Recluse (talk) 06:02, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

They should also be dropped by embers, try Sunken Halls of Clarent. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:16, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
Got my Hot Stone from a Veteran harpy destroyer in the small cave with the fissures in front. Hope that helps someone. --Gold Recluse (talk) 03:28, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

Large collection icons[edit]

Originally, I added the parameter "large" (for 64px icons) for the fishing collection where the hint already takes up four rows and thus vertical space is available. Here however, setting the icons to large increases in my opinion the row height without being necessary, blowing up this already large table and ultimately decreasing readability. Am I the only one that prefers small icons in a "normal" collection table ("normal" = tables where the hint doesn't take up several rows)? --Tolkyria (talk) 13:55, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
