This is an Amazingly Terrible skill[edit]

Wow this is a terrible skill. No way somebody would give up other heals for this. the damage part of the heal is too small for its duration. and the active heal is too weak to save yourself from anything.--Knighthonor (talk) 08:05, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Considering the fact that the Guardian can heal himself with the greatsword already i think i have to disagree. And of course there's the overall high defense of this class, plus thie fact that this heals for every damage you deal. If you use it right it can help you greatly and of course there's the small thing called teamwork. If you have a balanced team you shouldn't need that big a heal. This is meant to be used along with other Meditations / the traits that boost them. I agree that Signet of Resolve is a stronger general-purpose skill and it doesn't require any particular build or situation, but I think that says more about the strength of Signet of Resolve than this skill being "bad". Played with this for a little while now and while i still prefer Shelter i'd rather take this then Signet of Resolve if i had to choose between the two. Yes, the heal is smaller and pretty conditional but it works out pretty nice and since so many ppl go for 'i have to deal as much damage as possible' in their mindset anyway, at least on my server, i can see this becoming the new standard-selfheal. You obviously never saw the developers video! It is possible under certain circumstances to completely restore all your health with this skill. I guess if you have a lot of damge bonus on weapons, retaliation boon and traits you could get quite a lot of damage with virtues and AOE damage on a big group. I saw them do it on the developers video blog. Stu (talk) 15:22, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

This is also the guardians quickest activating heal skill. Its cooldown is also the lowest. Ran a single test and healed for nearly 6k with meditation trait. Doing the basic and rough math makes it on par with Signet of Resolves bulk heal, only difference is you have to dish out some pain while the buff is active. It's not bad.
