Meh, I don't really like how this is worded... EiveTalk 09:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Does it matter? There's no information on this page.99.1.41.126 10:05, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Wouldn't this be a better as a category, rahter than a list (unless the idea was to do a DPL list when more information was avalible) RandomTime 11:15, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Crippling Barrage[edit]

Upon reading this article, I do not get the impression that the term cripple actually means the condition, but means to significantly lower the enemy's health. This was added to the barrage page, until confirmation I have followed the "possible" traits style and added it to an unknown category until confirmation can be granted one way or the other. "resistance de la nature"[edit]

As seen in this video from the Paris demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=770MEsIhk_k&feature=mfu_in_order&playnext=1&videos=TKd9yH0t8lQ, there's a ranger trait called like that that makes you recover from poison faster, the problem is I don't know the exact translation and I can't see to what trait line it belongs, if someone can check we could have one more trait for the list. If not at least someone tell me if I should put it in the page as unlinked or wait till we have more information. The trait is seen in minute 2:13, thanks. Bitter 18:44, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

"Resistance de la nature" is, literally, "resistance of (the) nature". Put in English layman's terms, "Natural Resistance". (Edit) "You recuperate from poisoning faster/more rapidly."136.159.70.7 19:05, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Well I just found an amazing thread at GW2guru that is compilating all the skills and traits so I found that one (and others). Added them all (ranger ones) I guess.Bitter 23:23, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Nature Resistance or Natural Resistance? Which is GW2Guru putting it down as?68.144.97.124 00:04, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
I would assume Natural Resistance. It's grammatically correct, and Nature Resistance is not. EiveTalk 02:13, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
In guru it is listed as Nature Resistance, and I think is correct because it's not a natural resistance, it's a resistance of the nature. Anyway I'm spanish and my english level kinda sucks, so change it if your sure it's incorrect.Bitter 13:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
My money would be on Natural Resistance, because it's already in Guild Wars 1 and does essentially the same thing. Felix Omni Signature.png 14:02, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
ok I'm going to fix it myself now that I asked how to do it ^^ Bitter 15:39, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

(reset indent) May I say, as a French speaker, that I'd translate Résistance de Melandru as nature/natural resilience ? I'm not sure it's a huge difference, but resistance in English seems a more active way of resisting than the French word implies. For instance, Melandru's Resilience from GW1 is (was ? I'm not really into Rangers) translated "Résistance de Melandru". -Alarielle- 23:05, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Already discussed above. Quite a few non-English languages simply use of instead of making it possessive. Anyways, the reason I say Natural over Nature is that Natural would imply that the Ranger has a Natural resistance to poison, while Nature would imply that the poison is nature which the ranger has a resistance to. Natural just seems to make more sense. EiveTalk 23:38, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
My point was over the use of Resilience rather than Resistance. Nature or Natural are both correct. Did you read what I wrote ? I'm pretty sure I spend a most of it debating over the nuance that resilience and resistance have in English and French. -Alarielle- 15:33, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Lack of information[edit]

Out of curiosity: if the ranger was unveiled over a month before the necromancer, why do we have so much more information on the necromancer's traits than the ranger's? It doesn't make any sense as far as I can tell.--173.55.48.60 06:12, 16 March 2011 (UTC) Looking more carefully, ranger is the only class for which we have virtually no information about traits, despite being only the third revealed class. Is there a good reason for this?--173.55.48.60 06:16, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately, we can only really document what people videotape from the demo. Most players don't record footage mousing over each trait in a resolution and quality which allows us to transcribe it. I don't think I've seen anything from this week's new footage which does that. Hence the ranger stuff is particularly sad, we've not been able to get any new information to replace stuff we've deleted for being out of date. -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 07:41, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Malchior did, but he was obviously demo'ing thief. Unfortunately thief and guardian drew a lot more footage to the initial 4 compared. - Infinite - talk 14:04, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm just irritated that ranger is the only class of the six that got pretty much no coverage at all. Even the warrior we have some information on.--173.55.48.60 18:37, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Hammer?[edit]

Why is there a hammer trait line, although a ranger can't wield hammers? Corvus 10:34, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Good question. Let's see if I can't find a source before removing it.(Xu Davella 10:37, 20 March 2011 (UTC))
well about that Xu... --you like that don't you..The Holy Dragons 10:37, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
OMG ninja!! (Xu Davella 10:37, 20 March 2011 (UTC))
you EC'ed me and it probs was a copy paste mistake --you like that don't you..The Holy Dragons 10:38, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Nature's/al Resistance/lience[edit]

I'm assuming that Nature's Resilience is the correct one, but I thought I would bring it up anyway. They have identical functions and IIRC Natural Resistance came from a translation. Any one want to discuss it before I tag it for deletion? Aqua (T|C) 00:16, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Tip about listing[edit]

I' ve noticed that setting up a pvp build using this site is pretty hard, since profession-specific trait list pages are not specifying whether you need adept, master or grandmaster to "equip" any given major trait. Now this is my suggestion: Add the "Master","Adept", "Grandmaster" tiers to subcategorize eaCh group of major traits, so that they look like ordered and easy to access. Oh and, I don' t know if this has been intentionally put due to the lack of infos we have on traits nowadays, but wording on this table is wrong (from "Minor" three sub-branches lead to "minor", a second "minor" and a third "minor", instead of leading to "adept", "master", "grandmaster") Cheers and thumbs up for the good work. CaiusTheBig User talk:Caiusthebig 08:04, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Hm, if you're looking for, you should try Luna Atra's or gw2builds.org. :) Check the fansites list for links. And thanks for noting those errors on table. Mediggo 08:16, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
The trait list template needs to be updated, we know. The problem is that it's a very complex template, and no one has had the time to look into it yet. Also, it's not even 2 days since the BWE ended, OMG! I think you can afford to be a little more patient. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:26, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
My main point was about the three "minor" error; however, as you have stated , game is still under heavy developement so even the minor traits will be changed probably.

At this point it would be just better to leave blank spots in that table at this point ;) CaiusTheBig User talk:Caiusthebig 15:33, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Signet of the Beastmaster[edit]

... is still listed, despite being removed. Don't know how to fix.
