Indicating seasonal/limited-availability?[edit]

This list mixes regular offerings, seasonal (Halloween/Wintersday) offerings, and then things like the Mini Black Bear Cub which just says "for a limited time this spring."

Would anyone be opposed to my adding an "availability" column to the table, so we can specify if the item is sold year-round, repeatedly at a given time of year, or was a one-shot/historical thing? This could be useful for folks deciding whether to save or spend their gems. - Temerity (talk) 00:05, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

See "Special sales" section?--Relyk ~ talk < 00:39, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
^ Aside from this, the availability of items is rarely ever fixed; Halloween items might pop up during any sale throughout the year, i.e. Lunatic Guard Outfit. Not to mention that the table already indicates availability; anything not on the list isn't available, and historical items can be found over on the respective page. More information can be retrieved by, as Relyk already pointed out, visiting the sales pages. Besides, the information used for determining the availability of these items would be purely based on speculation as everything at any given time is subject to change. I'm not opposed to having an availability page, similar to what User:Dashface is maintaining over on Reddit, but its place would not be here. "anything not on the list isn't available" - Wait so is the list info pulled from the API or something like that? I thought it was manual. Okay, never mind, then. :) - Temerity (talk) 01:45, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
It is manual, Incarnazeus does it herself. Moving stuff about every couple of weeks is a bit tedious, but what can you do. Tyndel (talk) 02:19, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

Viper's Medium Armor Skin[edit]

Viper's Medium Armor Skin is not actually available on the Gem Store at this time.

Utility / Gathering Tools table wonky[edit]

I looked at some of the older versions of the Utility table, and there are dozens of entries missing from almost every version I looked at. They all have 10-20 entries, but it's a mostly different set of them a year ago, and also before that.

Does anybody know where the list comes from?

NOTE: I only look at the Gathering Tools sub-section of the Utility tables. Daddicus (talk) 21:56, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Please be specific. Which page are you looking at, are you using the "history" button? Walk us through what you're doing so we can replicate the issue. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 07:48, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
This page lists items that are currently available in the gem store. It is all done manually. When the gem store updates, someone has to also manually update this table. It's tedious, so it's natural that it may not be up to date. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 08:35, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
It was the "currently available" that I missed. I assumed it was supposed to be a complete list. Sorry for the wild goose chase. Daddicus (talk) 03:44, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

List of "Currently available" is wrong[edit]

Season 1 Memory Box—Flame and Festivals and Season 1 Memory Box—Scarlet vs. Lion's Arch are nowhere to be found in the in-game gem store. What gives? 77.165.250.227 17:30, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

It was removed and nobody noticed, so the page wasn't updated. That's all. It's been fixed. - Doodleplex 18:10, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Slow update[edit]

Hi just wanted to know who does the editing of the gem store items currently available on this wiki.

Reason im asking is that updates are slow. We are on 8 August, yet it was last updated in July.

I wouldnt mind making the changes on a daily bases, because at the moment there is no point in looking at the website as the data for currently available gem store items is wrong. I knlw it says at the top last updated in july, but I just feel many people use this wiki to see what items are in gem store, but atm its not very reliable.

Thank you for all the great work on this Wiki. 41.216.204.109 10:33, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

Anyone is welcome to update it. The reason it's slow is because it all has to be done manually since Anet doesn't provide any api whatsoever for the gemstore and the manual process for it is a bit of a PITA to handle (adding/removing items, adding sale duration, adding any specific discounts, etc). --ItVictor (talk) 11:32, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
Its not 100% manual as we've got Widget:Gem Store magic and it isn't too tricky to use - takes a few minutes to delete the temp folder, run gw2, open gemstore, close gw2 and load it into the widget, then copypaste the output onto the data subpage. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:26, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
The history sections are 100% still manual tho, which is what many people use to check the availability. And even with the widget for the main page, I'd like to see anyone who is up for updating it every day, or even every few days with the amounts of sales each day. ~Sime 16:10, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
