Achievement Contribution[edit]

Someone noticed that we are now at 38 spots ? Dunno where the "new one" is.

I'm not 100% positive each diving location does contribute to the achievement as alleged in the edit history. I've encountered two that did not increment my completion no matter what direction I jumped and how many skills I used. Razoras 14:25, 26 October 2012 (PDT)

Which ones, please? —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:43, 26 October 2012 (PDT)
I'm having the same feeling. I'm at 36/37, and I have went through all 37 listed here TWICE over. I was 36/37 after the first run, and have not been able to trigger the 37th after doing all of them over again. --SiderFace 21:14, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
I have encountered a pair that did not count for me. Its in Ruins of Orr, Cursed Shore, directly east of the Cathedral of Silence name. On the edge of the cliffs where there are a bunch of Risen Eagles, there is a pair there that when used, did not give me any credit. I looked on the Wiki page and it does not mention these so I assume they are just there for fun.--Mistesrian 04:28, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
Mausollus Sea - At the beginning of the Buried Archives jumping puzzle. Counted for me. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 04:38, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
I ended up getting it on my THIRD run through of them. I was almost done again, when the 2nd to last one on my list awarded me the achievement finally. It was on the one by the vista at Demon's Maw (Lornar's Pass). I am 100% positive that I did this one in the past. I should mention that in my third run through of the jumps, I made sure that I was NEVER 'in battle', and always at full health. Its possible that this was an issue in previous attempts, perhaps. --SiderFace 00:55, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

same here, although for me it's just 1: I have 36/37, and have tried all 37 locs. Am now in the process of redoing all 37. EDIT: was redoing all, and got the last 1. Seems 1 of the 2 in Deirdre's Steps jumping puzzles didn't count for me 1st time for some reason. But this confirms that we have the correct 37 on the current list. 37/37 now =) PS: dunno how to sign like you guys, sorry. Harain 18:01, 27 October 2012 (GMT)

I'm at 19 right now. I've done all but the Bloodtide one in Kryta (6), all in Maguuma (9), and 4 in the Shiverpeaks (both of Lornar's, Grawlenfjord, and Gentle River). All of them have counted so far. I'll watch carefully as I go through the second half. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 09:31, 27 October 2012 (PDT)
Could it be you used them previously after the update with another character and didn't remember? MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 17:19, 27 October 2012 (PDT)

I'm at the one in Metrica Province on the Floating Bridge above Durotl Grounds, and the diving goggles are now missing. I'm comparing where I am to a picture online of where they should be, and they are no where to be found. 23:37 EDT, 1 Nov 2012

I can confirm this, 2nd Nov 2012, the diving goggles are missing
The diving goggles are not missing from anywhere, only not yet respawned after someone used it. So you have to wait or go back later to use it. 82.131.236.209 12:46, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
What? I've seen then used consecutively y over 5 less than a week ago. How can that be? MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 12:49, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

I can cornfirm aswell that they are bugged here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goggles spawn per-character, they're not a shared resource. Or at least they weren't on Sunday, the last time I used them, with a full party. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:56, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
From my experience, as I gone to the Titan's Staircase bridge and the google was not in its place, but after an hour or so it was. 82.131.235.222 14:04, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
This is definitely a new bug, then, because they would respawn for me after about 30 seconds. Please be sure to post this on the official forums. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:40, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Can also confirm this bug (Sanctum of Rall server), thoroughly search the stone bridge for several minutes and found no goggles. 96.39.113.84 03:08, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Confirmed where I am also. Desolation server. No goggles @ Metrica Province Loch Jezt location, on the floating bridge. --User BunnyBomb 1.pngBunny - BunnyBomb Talk 21:21, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

I witnessed a pair of goggles disappearing in Cursed Shore (near the Melandru temple), but I could still interact with them where they were supposed to be. Not sure if that's happening everywhere, but at least there, I could use them even though the object wasn't visible. -- FreedomBound 21:47, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Sadly, that trick doesn't work on the Goggles in Metrica Province at Lock Jezt. They aren't invisible, they just don't spawn at all. So until Arenanet fix this bug, nobody can complete the Achievement track.--User BunnyBomb 1.pngBunny - BunnyBomb Talk 18:55, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
Unless you got that one before they were bugged, my wife and I have completed the achievement. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:48, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes of course I mean as of now. But it makes me feel so much better to know that there are other people out there who got the achievement that I can't get. Thanks.--User BunnyBomb 1.pngBunny - BunnyBomb Talk 08:37, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Any news on this? I reported it in game 2 weeks ago but I'm still at 36/37 because of the Loch Jezt goggles 142.167.215.124 22:59, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Amazed this still isn't fixed. Does it work on any server at all? If so I might just server change while I still can.--86.28.147.193 19:57, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Seems like the Loch Jezt is fixed with the Wintersday patch, I was able to complete the achievement. 15 December 2012

Confirmed, tried day before patch, was just running by on a lark and lo and behold, diving goggles. Finished my achievement as well. Kalea 11:38, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Loch Jezt diving goggles are really hard to target. From the western end: jump onto the large rock slightly to the north, then jump on the tiny rock just north-northwest. They're on that tiny rock.

Stuck in Transform[edit]

Just reported a bug. I used the goggles in Bloodtide Coast and when I jumped I was immediately attacked in the water before I changed back to armor. It stuck me in the diving goggles transform until I rezoned. Did look kind of humorous running around Bloodtide in just goggles. :) DeirdreGreymoon 18:38, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Did it change your skillset? If not, you could have pressed zero (0) to end transformation. And come on, there's no shame in running around in your undies! --192.12.88.32 16:00, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

New 38th location[edit]

It has been added to the achievements, not positive, but I think it was added during Sky Pirate update, but haven't found location. I am thinking it might be in the new jumping puzzle opening soon. Just a guess. Kenrid (talk) 20:59, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

  >> The 38th location was added with the Sky Pirates Living Story Jumping Puzzle on July 1, 2013. The entrance to the puzzle is in southern Gendarran Fields. You have to keep going up past the chest in order to get it - it's at the very top. Very hard to get to and hard to manage the jump successfully - note that you HAVE to land in the water for it to count. Also note that you can't see where the water is once you get the goggles. Good luck! MayaTheAmazing 12:25, 2 July 2013 (EDT)

Southsun Goggles[edit]

When they released the Aetherblade puzzle, I already had 38 goggles. I don't know if that's a bug, or if it's something else. Can somebody without all 38 goggles try this? Go to Southsun, grab the goggles, and leave the karka nest by walking, no waypoints. You should be able to walk around the entire island with them. Walk to a location from which you can jump to water (there's some bridges around the southern cliffs), and perform an actual water dive instead the deadly lava dive. I did that one day on a whim after getting the nest's orichalcum, and I'm thinking maybe that's why I got 38. Unlikely as it is, I can't rule it out myself, so I'll be nice of you if someone could try. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 04:49, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm at 38/38 as well despite never having done the Aetherblade goggles. I have done the karka nest dive, but I've never used the goggles anywhere other than the lava, or even taken them out of the hive. I had 37/37 dives before the update. Finally, I fell into the Aetherblade dive pool while doing the puzzle, long before even finding the goggles; I don't remember if my achievement was at 37 or 38 prior to falling in. So my guess is either (a) folks who have already completed the achievement are automatically given #38 for "free"; or (b) falling into the pool sans goggles is sufficient to get credit, possibly with the caveat of having already maxed it prior to the update. -82.0.20.30 02:21, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

HoT Goggles[edit]

Cannot find mention of this anywhere. I just found diving googles on the wreckage of an airship in the canopy over the Pact Encampment (just northwest of the waypoint). Use a bouncing mushroom to reach the spot. Can't figure out where to dive, there's no water anywhere nearby.

That's a pretty hard one to hit since it is one of those where you cannot see your target at all until after you jump. Dulfy has a video for it, as do others. Even with that preview, it may take several tries to hit the water. Once you are at ground level you can see your target - the little pool near the camp with a node of mussels in it. --Gold Recluse (talk) 02:20, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
It's a puddle in the middle of the Pact camp, basically. Easiest way to get it would be to get someone else to put up a mentor tag and swim in the puddle so you can see exactly where to aim --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 05:55, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Before going to the goggles, while at ground level stand in the middle of the pool and use ALT + click on the compass where your dot is. Now you have something to aim at. Obviously it is much easier to make repeated attempts if doing this at night after the helicopters have appeared. Pick up the goggles, then walk to the southeast side of the round hole (don't jump into it), and then run off the edge (pretty much in parallel with the pointy bits of metal deck). Steer whilst in the air for your star marker, and try and avoid any tree trunks. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 06:29, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Interactive Map troubles[edit]

First, I know I'll probably get flamed for using Microsoft's Edge browser, but it's built for idiots like me. I'm having trouble getting the interactive map to properly zoom in on the bottom areas (trying to find Diving Goggles in Istan). It zooms in and goes black. Like the bottom of the map gets cut off. Please help? Thank you! Ima Mental Won (talk) 16:14, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

Hey, sorry for the super-late response, but that's actually ArenaNet's fault not ours for once. https://github.com/arenanet/api-cdi/issues/589 (i.e. we can't fix it - sorry!) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:12, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
