Talk:Blaine
[edit]
How many days must pass before he mails you anyway? I didn't take note and can't remember. --138.75.174.62 19:49, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
If there's another achievement, no-one has spotted it yet, it seems. As for the timings; based on when I remember doing the (main?) achievement on my accounts, I'm fairly sure that the letters arrive after a full week and fortnight, for the first and second notes respectively. Confirmed[edit]
"The mail is sent only once to the first character that is logged into that is level 80, and may not necessarily be the one that fed Blaine." Seems to be the case for me. The only part of the statement that I cannot attest to is the level 80 requirement since my toon who got the mail (who didn't help Blaine) was level 80. --Messenger (talk) 14:27, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
- It definitely needn't be the same character. I've received the first letter on two accounts, and the second on one; none were on the character who originally fed Blaine. The second letter has yet to turn up on my second account, so - if I can remember - I'll log in a lower-level character first each day on the other one, and try to check that aspect out (to the extent that it can be checked, at least; "absence of proof isn't proof of absence", and all that...),Doghouse13 (talk) 08:54, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- Not sure why the verification was changed but the question was can a character that didn't complete HoT/LWS3 get the letter, not "can another character get it" in general. I know a different character can get it, I just don't know if ONLY those have done either HoT or LWS3 can get it. - Doodleplex 09:04, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- Well (and, yes, I understand that this isn't the confirmation that was originally sought, but I might as well keep checking now I've started...), I know that I did the achievement on my second account mid-evening on Monday 13th February. Each day I'm logging a low-level character first, then a level 80 who hasn't been to Lake Doric, then the one who did the achievement. It's 9 days-worth of resets now, and I'm still waiting for the second letter to turn up. Doghouse13 (talk) 12:19, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- Maybe you found a bug, and low level toons break the letter trigger? Keep doing it for a few more days, then report to ANet. Rose Of Kali 14:29, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- My experience seems to fit well with the low level character log-in breaking the letter: I fed Blaine about a week after the release of the episode (2-3 weeks ago?), but I haven't received even the first letter yet. I log in with a low level character every day before going on my level 80. Going to try swapping the order of characters for a few days, and see if I get the letter then.--Veli Nalle (talk) 19:59, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- I just logged in on my L80 today, and I got the 2nd (Archduke) letter. I never got the first one. I have usually been logging in on a lower level character first recently so it might be true that that breaks it. —Azurem 18:36, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- Just got the 3rd letter today, never got the first 2. Logged in first on my lvl80 today, so it really looks like the first character to log in each day is important. Sending a bug-report later today... --Veli Nalle (talk) 07:04, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
- It looks likely - but in the end, I blew it. Last night I completed the "Head of the Snake" meta, and this morning, bleary eyed, I screwed up and logged in my Level 80 first. Letter 3 promptly arrived; no sign of letter 2. So whether that was down to the logging sequence, or the meta, or both, I can't say. Sorry, folks.Doghouse13 (talk) 08:05, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
