The rewards are wrong. I have been in 3rd place and still got 4 gifts. I expect it's down to number of points, but the exact rules I don't know 81.157.232.174 00:40, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Yes, 4 gifts seem to be given when you exceed 500 points, or something like that. I've gotten 4 gifts several times, when having over 500 points but not being first. --Papa ultra 02:16, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
Is it really that hard to change...--Relyk 02:54, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
No, but as I only could speculate about the amount of points needed for 2 and 1 gifts, I thought it was best left for someone who actually had observed it. --Papa ultra 13:46, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
I just got 486 and got 4 gifts. I was third place. 173.49.36.58 15:34, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
I got first place with 598 and got 2 gifts. Then I got 2nd place with a bit less than that and got 4. It's probably based on the success of your entire section, not just you. So if you're playing Upper and your mid/lower suck, you'll get less? This is my guess. Points alone are showing nothing. --Kari 17:31, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
I did some testing, trying to get as low and high score as possible while also altering the completed songs variable. It became clear from the results that your score is irrelevant regarding the received reward. For instance, it is possible to get 4 personalized gifts, even if you score below 200, as long as you complete all 6 songs. Some test runs were done without any other players on the platform, making the AI play perfectly, while other test runs were completed together with newbies who hardly hit a single note. The performance of other players didn't seem to have any effect on the rewards at all. The “general rule” seems to be that you get rewards based on the amount of songs you complete. If you are unable to complete the songs at easy and medium difficulty, or if you only manage to survive any 2 of them, you will get 1 bonus gift if you complete both songs on hard difficulty.(Zhady Zly 04:00, 22 December 2012 (UTC))

I don't know exactly how to edit the descriptions without apparently ruining the links so if someone else could take care of it; mi "me", so "sol" and ti "te" seem to be misspelled both next to their respective icons and in their short descriptions, thanks. 184.153.58.154 06:14, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Mi and ti would be correct if this were a major scale. However, this is dorian mode; the third and seventh scale degrees are lowered by a half-step, so mi becomes me (pronounced "meh") and ti becomes te (pronounced "teh"). Both so and sol are both accepted spellings for an unaltered fifth scale degree. Regardless, these are the names the skills have in-game, so I'd recommend against changing them. Resemblance to other games[edit]

You know, for me, the resemblance to RB / GH is not just passing, it's striking. But if my inclusion has violated any rule or agreement, it would have been kind of nice or constructive to drop like one link or one line of explanation on this talk page or mine before or after removing it. --Miyuki Minase 06:58, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

I agree with you, especially the color order makes it more than mere coincidence. I'll add it back. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 22:15, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
I guess I don't play GH enough lol--Relyk 22:17, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

WHEN to play the notes?[edit]

The spheres dissolve when they reach the circle - do you have to play the note before or after or during that?--Cyberman 19:35, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

You hit the notes in the blue circle, the space between the two white circular border, one being the border between the notes, the other being the border between you.--Relyk 20:32, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Where?[edit]

Can we please get a line that tells where to go to play the game? Daddicus 05:37, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Difficulty[edit]

Even at low level this minigame is absurdly hard! The preceding unsigned comment was added by 79.12.200.85 (talk) at 22:44, 10 December 2013 (UTC).

Flawless reward[edit]

This anon will have you know that he just completed this game with 600/600 and received a yellow Loot Bag. From it I gained some yellow rifle with a major sigil on it. Also, to the person above me: this is the most easy minigame in the entire wintersday event. 82.73.191.126 15:24, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

The loot bag is a reward for completing 30 songs, it's a repeatable achievement. There's no extra reward for getting full 600 points.Tuomir (talk) 16:34, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Key binding tip for players with no coordination[edit]

Unbind anything normally for your elite, as accidentally pressing it causes you to leave early... -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 02:38, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

2 songs missing from the medley - "Guild Wars" and "Fear Not This Night"[edit]

The track from ArenaNet's SoundCloud (https://soundcloud.com/arenanet/wintersday-bell-choir-medley) has only 4 of the 6 songs (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Soundtrack#Track_listing_2).
The 2 missing ones are the Guild Wars Theme and Fear Not This Night.
Are these 2 songs' Bell Choir versions available for download or purchase anywhere?

2016 Rewards[edit]

Not sure how to format this, but each song rewards the following:

  • 2540 Experience (possibly scaled?)
  • Karma
    • 5000 Karma for the first 3 songs completed per day
    • 1000 Karma for each additional song
  • Wintersday Gift.pngWintersday Gift
    • Easy songs (1)
    • Medium songs (3)
    • Hard songs (5)

Feedback 2021/12/17[edit]

Oddities on notes and songs[edit]

As far as I can tell, the lower part plays note #2 (red) just once in the entire sequence.

The upper part mostly uses just the left hand (notes #1 to #4), until the last two songs.
