temporarily disabled[edit]

I'm not sure why, but when I talk to him, all I get is a red message in chat: "That content has been temporarily disabled. please try again later."

I am the guild owner, I have a co-owner, I don't have a guild hall yet, because we just got back to the game after a 3 year hiatus. My guild is currently level 1. My original account got banned, so I had to start over, so the character I'm using now is only 35.

If anyone knows why this is happening, I'd love to know. I tried searching with google, but I couldn't find anyone else mentioning him. I'm not even sure what he's "Supposed" to do. Ezelberoth (talk) 00:12, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

According to Reminder from the Guild Halls Team:
The following upgrades will unlock scribing recipes. You must have a guild hall to scribe the schematic and build the item. However, until you get the guild hall you will be able to purchase the items with favor from a Guild Requisitioner found in the Guild Initiative Office.
  • Guild Catapult will auto unlock the War Room upgrade “Scribing: Guild Catapult”.
  • Guild Siege Suit will auto unlock the War Room upgrade “Scribing: Guild Siege Golem”.
It was posted less then 3 weeks ago on 21-Oct-2015, so I'd consider it still relevant. However, that does not explain your "temporarily disabled" message. For that I'd suggest a support ticket. My guess is that it was low priority, bugged and intentionally disabled. ~ 1Maven (talk) 22:14, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Ok, so after a bit more testing, apparently he's a vendor, but if you don't have enough currency to buy anything, he simply gives the error of being temporarily disabled. I think he uses Favor as the currency. Ezelberoth (talk) 00:12, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

He was a merchant that had initially sold guild consumables (like banners) in exchange for favor. His store seems to have been disabled some time ago for whatever reason. Unfortunate for those of us with a constant excess of favor and no resources to use scribing. I hope they enable it again at some point. » Keneth O'Connor, 20:42, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
I don't know whether the NPC was entirely replaced with Bartholemew Kangas or if that was always his name (in which case this page should probably be deleted/merged), but the NPC works again. » Keneth O'Connor, 19:51, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Table[edit]

I wanted to use the NPC Vendor tabling, but unfortunately, we don't have pages for the banners and it kinda broke the table a bit. If someone has a solution to make it back up to standard, that'd be great. Syunfung (talk) 20:10, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

We actually did have them. They were found under Guild banner. I need to fix icons later.Anzenketh (talk) 20:58, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

A few issues regarding this NPC[edit]

1. Some of the links under "Items offered" are broken.
2. Exactly which guild permissions does one need in order to speak to this NPC?

Items were added. I don't know about the permissions. Two factors seem to be at play for being able to purchase the upgrades.
  1. Your guild needs to have unlocked the ability to purchase them.
  2. As best as I can tell, your rank in the guild needs to have the "Purchase Upgrades" permission. (may require another permission on top of that)
Also, I did break the other links in the process of fixing things. Sorry. G R E E N E R 02:42, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Found another issue with this NPC. While you can change the amount, only one purchase goes through at a time. Tried to buy 19 +10% Gathering Bonus Banner, but only one went to my guild (I was only charged the amount of favor for one). It showed the level up (or learned a recipe) animation far more intensely, which was entertaining.Gammler (talk) 03:26, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Upgrades required?[edit]

I was trying to exchange some favor I accumulated with my bank guilds and noticed that not all services listed on this page are available, for example the Guild Siege Golem. Even stranger, for one of the guilds the catapults weren't available either. They're both lvl 2 guilds and based on GW2 Efficiency have the same upgrades. Am I missing something? Nevermind, I completely missed that one is missing the Scribing Recipe Guild Catapult. I'm just blind. Lacrisma.1540 (talk) 15:55, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

When is this unlocked?[edit]

For one of my bank guilds its at level 14, but still doesnt have the merchant unlocked. A Liability (talk) 08:27, 9 October 2023 (UTC) Apparently he appears between 16 and 23. A Liability (talk) 04:48, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
